Product Description CHOYA Extra Shiso Umeshu is a unique Japanese fruit liqueur that blends the rich sweetness of ume fruit with the aromatic complexity of red shiso leaves. Made with carefully selected Nanko ume from the renowned Kishu region, the fruit is steeped in alcohol with the stone intact and aged for 2–3 years, allowing the full flavour and natural acids of the fruit to develop. Choya uses an unusually high quantity of ume fruit during production to ensure a rich and authentic taste. This process draws out the fruit’s natural organic acids, creating a beautifully balanced umeshu with both sweetness and refreshing acidity. The addition of shiso (perilla), an aromatic herb from the mint family, gives this umeshu its vibrant ruby red colour and distinctive herbal notes. On the nose, expect aromas of ripe plums, red berries and delicate herbal spice. Tastes great
Taste great and my wife loves it. A touch too sweet, but hey, it is a Choya! As long as my wife likes it, it is great value! Strangely more expensive in UK than Singapore where alcohol is taxed heavily. Hard to find in UK stores. So far only found them in Asian specialty stores and Amazon.

Deliciuous Umeshu
I really like this Umeshu but would really like to try the other flavours. The extra Shiso or Royal Honey sounds a lot more interesting. The plum is quite a nice addition but I would say they're my favourite thing in the world. It's more on the pricy side but you do get a good amount of this sweet sweet liquid gold.

Was soll man sagen, Umeshyu ist einfach klasse! In Japan wird es oft als Getränk für Frauen angesehen, aber ich, als Mann, trinke es leidenschaftlich gerne. Mit etwas Eis und ist einfach total super. Ist aber sehr süß.

Intensiver Geschmack
Ich habe meine erste Flasche geschenkt bekommen. Der Geschmack ist überraschend intensiv. Das hat den Vorteil, dass auch kleine Mengen sehr "satt" machen. Ich habe den Choya schon mehreren Gästen zum Probieren gegeben und alle liebten ihn. Veschenke ihn seither immer mal wieder.
