The description says "easy release plates" for easy cleanup. How does that work??

You grease or oil them before you bake your waffles - important to use cooking sprays WITHOUT silicone, which can cause a sticky buildup. I used spray canola oil and there was no sticking, right down to the ninth waffle (the included recipe would have made ten had I not used too much on the first one!) The plates are not removable.

What is a bubble waffle

Here what I found online: An eggette is a kind of spherical pancake or ball waffle popular in South India, Hong Kong and Macao. The food item is also referred to as an egg puff, egg waffle, bubble waffle or by its Cantonese name, gai daan jai (鷄蛋仔),1 and is made from eggs, sugar, flour, and light evaporated milk.2 They are best served hot, and often eaten plain. They can also be served with fruit and flavors such as strawberry, coconut or chocolate.2 They are sometimes referred to as "Hong Kong cakes" in Chinatowns across America, especially in New York.

can you use Bisquick or another commercial pancake batter and get good results?

you can use any batter recipe you have in this machine.

Can you use regular retail pancake or waffle batter mix with this?
