Good substitute for existing Majestic fireplace valve!
This valve did the job! It was not a direct replacement for the existing valve in my Majestic fireplace, but it would not have been reasonable to expect it to be since the original valve was discontinued. I had to rework some of the connections and mount it a bit lower that the original because the knobs are "taller" than the old valve. My only recommendation would be to include instructions for the valve, or at least a link to where instructions or a manual could be found. I was able to find a manual with a simple internet search, but it would have been nicer to at least include a link.

Great Supplier that helped with installation issue
Valve was purchased after old valve pilot would not stay lit, and thermocouple was tested good. New valve did not work but supplier replied to my enquiry within one hour and sent a photo showing that the thermocouple could be installed in one of two places. This allowed me to fix the issue within five minutes and now the valve is working fine. Great customer service!

Perfect replacement for Majestic
Perfect replacement for discontinued Honeywell valve that came with my 20 year old Majestic fireplace. Well, not perfect, it did take a little imagination to mount it. This unit is just slightly wider than the original Honeywell valve, so I use the two bottom screws next to the gas in and gas out connections. So the valve is mounted with 2 screws instead of 4 but with the gas in and gas out connected, it's a very solid mount. The only other thing is the Honeywell valve had a built in igniter, which this valve lacks. This was solved with an inexpensive Piezo spark igniter, which provides for a much stronger spark than the igniter on the original valve. The piezo connects to the pilot assembly with the same wire. It's important to get the silver grounding tab on the piezo connected grounded. With the way I mounted it, it just slid into the opening that was used on the previous bracket to allow for the gas in connection. I then used the now unused hole for the top right valve mounting screw and drilled another hole and criss crossed two cable ties, one going each direction and pulled them tight. Again, this ended up being very sturdy. This may sound like a lot of trouble but it really wasn't. When I wasn't able to find the exact replacement Honeywell valve, I was stuck as to what to do. This ended up being a good solution, and was fairly inexpensive. I replaced the pilot assembly also and still only had about $230 in parts. Anyway, this wasn't difficult. If you are even slightly handy, it's a DIY job that will save you at least a few hundred bucks.

Operates as designed. Check thermocouple terminal block location.
Excellent working valve. Matches old valve. There are two locations that the thermal couple terminal block may be located, one in the back and one in the front. The location of the thermocouple terminal block on this valve is in the front.

Replaced valve
Our gas fireplace stopped working just as we were headed into a cold few days. We called around and could not find a replacement anywhere. A small supply store in Fairmont, WV told us how to find this one. It works perfectly! Great quality, reasonable price. Thank you so much.

Works well but there should be a manual included
Product worked well and installation relatively easily. There was no documentation with the valve and I needed to do some googling to find a PDF manual.

Worked great in 14 year old gas fireplace
Fixed a 14 year old millivolt gas fireplace that would not keep the pilot lit even after a replacing thermocouple. Fireplace shop diagnosed bad valve but wanted almost a grand to replace. Did it myself in about 2 hours of taking my time, taking notes and basically disassembling entire fireplace innards to get it out. Do not over tighten brass thermocouple into body of gas valve - hand tight plus 1/4 turn only or you'll likely destroy it. I do have some gas piping experience and feel like this could be done in about an hour next time. Getting the elbow off old unit was really tough (required a vice and pipe wrench) - best buy a brand new one and have it available before beginning as others have mentioned. Fired right up after leak testing with soapy water.

Paid to have it installed by a pro. It came in broken
I ordered this product as a direct replacement for my 13-year-old Majestic gas fireplace. I cross-referenced part numbers to confirm this is the proper valve. It is an exact match for the OEM part. I paid to have a professional technician to install it. This replacement came to me broken and never allowed the fireplace to light. Multiple attempts to troubleshoot by tech resulted in a determination that the valve was defective. Gas is flowing to the valve. The pilot light works properly The main valve will not open to let the gas flow. I paid to have this professionally installed as I am selling my house and the buyer requested a licensed contractor sign off that the fireplace is working properly. I am now out at least $100 for the first install and now will probably be out an additional $100 plus to uninstall the first defective valve and install the second. It is very frustrating to have this happen. I guess I have just really bad luck.
