Since you're looking at this particular set, I'm going to guess you've probably set a limit to how much you want to spend on what's likely going to be your every day set of knives. You might own more expensive (and arguably better) knives, but you’d rather not see them used by anyone who is not as concerned as you are with their integrity and longevity. You’ve also seen first hand the difference between the Wusthof Gourmet series and the classic Wusthof, and you also know Henkel doesn’t quite cut it. If I guessed right and you’re considering buying this set for these or similar reasons, do not hesitate: buy it right now! These knives are a cut above your usual value knife sets. Cool, sexy looks, sharp blades that stay sharp, full tang, well balanced overall, sturdy but ergonomic handles with no sharp lines. They even sound great - you know, that tuning fork ring they make if you just give them a gentle tap - so it’s really easy to pick up the right knife with eyes closed if you have perfect pitch! :P Everything most knives in this price range aren’t. I actually ended up liking these knives so much I now use them more often than my Global set. This is not to say the Globals are not the superior knives, it’s just that these Dalstrong knives are *perfectly fine* for most things someone who cooks for pleasure and not for a living will find themselves using them for. I will say that one of the knives I received had a small flaw - a crack in the side of the handle that looks like it occurred on riveting. I contacted Dalstrong support. Three days later I had the replacement. No runaround, no BS. They looked at the pictures I sent and just replied asking for my shipping address. Honestly, how often does that happen? (Thanks Rachelle for the terrific customer support experience!) You may rest assured that whatever issue you have with the product, they’ll make it right. I believe other reviews mentioned the awesome customer support as well, and I can confirm these guys really stand by their product. After the very positive experience with this set, I do think I’ll try some of their more premium knives soon (they’re still not even close to premium-priced). In short: These are value-priced knives that have none (or close to none) of the shortcomings you’d expect for the price, while blowing some of the established choices out of the water in some regards. Certainly the modern, streamlined looks will strike some conversations (yes, I know, that’s highly subjective).

What can I say? I mean, I absolutely love these knives. I love everything Dalstrong. Ever since I purchased my first Dalstrong product, which I believe was a pair of cooking tweezers, I have been obsessed with their website & subsequently their knives & such. Yes, they are a bit on the pricey side, HOWEVER, they are MORE than WORTH every single DOLLAR you invest. Take the time to visit their website, look at their videos, YouTube, Instagram, etc.; do your research. See for yourselves just how much time, effort, and dedication they put into creating their products. Their knife series' are not only creative but aesthetically appealing & they actually get the job done. They are strong, durable beautiful knives. If I had enough space in my house, I would collect them all! They are sharp right out of the box & they work so smoothly & make life just so much easier in the kitchen. I love to cook. I enjoy all the chopping, cutting, etc. I can spend hours in the kitchen cooking & I would be in heaven & having Dalstrong products to help me along the way just makes it that much more enjoyable for me. Please do yourself a favor. If you love cooking as much as I do, invest in a set of good quality durable knives that will last you a lifetime. I am not done yet. I am still aiming for the Shogun collection. Luckily I have 2 kitchens in my house so I have an excuse to get a second set of high-quality knives. Dalstrong is my go-to & I highly recommend them to all you home cooks & professional chefs as well since some professional chefs are already taking advantage of these amazing quality knives. And lets not forget about the hunters, fishermen, butchers, etc., they have knives for everyone. I can't brag about their products enough. You just gotta go check out their website. But be prepared to spend hours on your computer because once I got on, I could not stop window shopping. My wish list just keeps growing every day. Yes, I visit their website at least once a day. J'ai acheté ce produit (en promotion )et la qualité des couteaux Gladiator est élevée avec un tranchant et une dureté exceptionnelle. je n'aurai jamais mis la somme de 1000 € demandée au départ... Le lot de couteaux est homogène avec 3 rivets sur les manches et une magnifique finition. Le maintien des couteaux et la qualité des manche est du haut de gamme avec une garantie à vie. Le Bloc en noyer est lui aussi magnifique mais nous avons dû retourner l'ensemble car le bloc bois était fendu. C'est hélas ne soucis récurrent de ce type de bloc. Nous avons retourné le produit et pris un ensemble Dalstrong avec 6 couteaux pour un rangement bois magnétique de 12 couteaux moins imposant. D'ailleurs on voit les couteaux en permanence ce qui est plus pratique et plus sympa. Les couteaux sont encore d'une gamme plus élevée (Phantom). Dommage pour le bloc bois, bien fini avec tampon en dessous. Le retour s'est fait sans soucis. On est vraiment sur de vrais couteaux durables loin de ce qui peut être proposé dans des ensembles bien "jolie" mais à la durabilité faible.

The first set that arrived had a minor (and I mean minor) finishing flaw which niggled at me enough to make mention of it to the seller, wow! This seller goes above and beyond in satisfying their customers, this is the sort of customer service that major companies only dream about, they are truly top tier! As for the product itself even the one with the minor flaw was good, the replacement flawless. The knives themselves I have been using for a couple of weeks or so and they are showing no signs of wear and tear, keeping a sharp edge and haven’t even needed to see a steel let alone a sharpener yet. The weight and balance is all there plus slicing through my fillet steak like it was butter even shocked me, and I’m an ex Butcher by trade. On top of that the block looks great on the worktop, even the wife was impressed after whinging about the cost lol. I would highly recommend this product and I will purchase from this company for the rest of my life so long as they keep up their standards as I was so highly impressed with the care they gave me as a customer. In fact I have already lined up my next purchase ‘the Obliterator’ cleaver which is part of this range. Honestly I am so happy...of course if the knives start showing signs of rust or ruin within an unreasonable time frame I will update this review.

Es gibt nicht viel zu erzählen, Sehr scharfe Messer mit tollen Design. Schöne Verarbeitung ohne optische Fehler. Messer liegen sehr gut in der Hand. Dazu ein schöner Messerblock der das Gesamtbild aufwertet. Preisleistung für mich als Hobbykoch top. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich noch nicht viel sagen. Habe die Messer ja gerade erst neu. Nur eine Anmerkung an den Hersteller/Versender: Es sollte nicht so offensichtlich sein was im Karton versendet wird. Meine Karton wurde geöffnet und wieder schlampig verklebt. Es wurde wahrscheinlich nur nichts gestohlen weil die Verpackung der Messer noch in Folie verschweißt waren.
