Nice quality stylus

Value for money.
Good value but don't expect the same sound as an original 500 or 505. I'm no audiophile, but for general listening of charity shop/junk records these are perfect for me. Stereo image is very narrow, but voices are clear and the top end isn't as harsh as some other cheap needles. I found I needed quite a high tracking weight to stop kick drum distortion on dance music. 4-5g as apposed to 3.5 for an original 505 cart so bare that in mind. I'm happy with them for the price, but I wouldn't want to use them with my more precious records. For sound quality and reduced record wear, I would recommend something a bit more high end.

Great stylus replacement
Great replacement for my tired stylus on my Gemini XL-600 - hard to find good quality styluses for this nowadays as it's an old turntable. Arrived a day before estimate, item as pictured and having installed and now listening, the quality is top drawer - definitely reccommend

OK Styli is now getting expensive and the usage of turntables have made a resurgence in quality cartridges. You cannot go wrong with Stanton's. Great all rounder and unlike non branded cartridges these fit the majority of the 500 series. I bought 6 overall for the radio station. we go through these like kids with nappies. Performance not as good as the original BUT very close, tracking is not as good but you get what you pay for.

Cheap and worn within a week
Good customer service from seller. Poor quality stylus bought for stanton 500 cart on Technics 1210 mk2. Sounded ok at first but suffered from harsh sibilance, within a week sounded muddy and distorted. Ultimately decided to replace the whole thing with an ortofon condcorde mk2 mix cartridge that sound great.

Replacement for 25year old Stanton needles
So after 25 years my old Stanton's died. I started mixing again when lockdown started so after a long hiatus, the needles had a battering. These replacement needles fitted perfectly and the sound quality is superb. It'll be interesting to see if these last 25years! Delivered a day early as well 🙂 and we'll packaged. Thanks
