A generous supply of excellent quality seed, good for transplanting and good for woodchucks
The seed is very clean, germinates almost perfectly, and there is a lot of seeds here. This is now my favorite lettuce for spring in western tennessee and our fat woodchuck has given it his seal of approval by eating it in preference to anything else in our garden. He can go through a half dozen lettuce plants in an evening (he only eats half of each plant). It is very pretty green, tender and quite tasty. (There is now a big live-trap offering fresh leaves of this great lettuce to the woodchuck...) I start the plants indoors in 3" deep seed starter trays under a grow light and put them in place in the garden when they are still small but sturdy. Use good starter mix, put three seeds in each cell, thin to one seedling per cell, keep it under a plant light until it is 2" tall, then move the cube of soil+plant into a small hole in the garden taking care to not disturb the soil when lifting it into the garden. This is good seed for transplanting and I could easily get as many lettuce plants as my garden can handle from this one package, but not quite as much as the woodchuck would like. We love Ohio Heirloom Seeds!

Germinated (Good Seeds)
Good seeds they are all germinated. This is July 18th 2025, I just transplanted them in planting pots and into a planting box. Looking forward to harvest them next month and see how’s their taste like. So I rate the seeds for five stars, but the taste is not yet known.

Great germination
I had awesome germination with these seeds. I planted the entire packet (over excited, not thinking) and I think we will be giving butter lettuce to our neighbors’ neighbors soon. Seriously every little seed has sprouted. Amazing value considering how many seeds come in the packet. I will purchase again (and plant more wisely)!

Our garden did very well with these seeds. We have more crisp and soft greens than we can eat.

Going crazy in my hydroponic garden!!
I bought these seeds after our local growing season was done and no local seeds were available. I've been burned with on-line seeds before... This packet contains so many seeds. I filled three pods with the seeds. It felt like I had a full salad in 10 days. The beautiful thing is I'm on the third salad per pod - I just chop off the leaves with a scissors and it regrows!! It tastes great too!

High germination rate! Looks good.
I planted these in my hydroponic system last year, and most of them germinated. It was fun to see them grow, and I would eat them by taking off leafs as it grew. This year, I wanted to try growing them outside, so I started some seeds in this tray and I was very surprised to see how many of them germinated! They are growing well and I will have to transplant them soon. I am hoping that they will grow bigger and become tastier outside. In the hydroponic system, they only had small leafs and didn’t taste too great.

High germination rate. Growing tips at company website
UPDATE: Developed good seedlings under grow light. Currently growing indoors as it is end of Dec and in the middle of winter in MA. Added a picture. INITIAL REVIEW: Arrived well packed and within 3 days of putting in my order. Seeds germinated within 3 days of planting —- sown the seeds in potting soil on germination tray with dome so I could easily control the moisture, and added cover to dome in the evenings since the area I have it gets cold in the evening. It has high germination rate. I planted extra seeds with I won’t likely need. Will adjust next time. Will add more once plant is fully grown. I ordered other seed types from Ohio Heirloom Seeds and equally happy with these seeds. Consistent high germination rate across seed varieties. The company website includes growing tips which I found useful.

Not one seed germinated!
Tried 2 different different batches, in 6 different trays. NOT ONE seed grew.
