Winner, NAMI/Ken Book Award Review: for families dealing with Schizophrenia - As a mother of a son with Schizophrenia, this is the most helpful book I have read. I live in the Netherlands and give Family to Family education and I have found the information clear, useful and easy to read. Most books deal with facts and figures and the actual diagnoses and medication. This book gives helpful tips about solving problems, communication and managing stress. It also gives a realistic view of the recovery process and helps familys head off relapses. I would also advise family members to give this book to everybody who has contact with the patient. I think its would help with lowering the stigma attached to this illness. Review: Very easy to understand - Great book to use as reference. Easy for non medical people to understand. Practical, useful information. Highly recommend.

A must read in understanding how a love one functions with Schizophrenia.
My daughter was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Bipolar Disorder. Purchasing this book has been a blessing in helping me understand my daughter's illness. I wish I would have known sooner what I've learned from reading this book. I possibly could have better supported my daughter with the strategies I now know when she was having her psychotic episodes.

I was afraid about the delivery service as it's quite a large book, but I am so thankful that I was able to receive the book in good shape.
