When my mother died, as executor my work produced a lot of paperwork: some of it legal size and some letter size. I needed to keep it all together but organized and portable. This box was well worth the money. It can be adapted to either legal or letter size hanging folders. Plenty of room for bulky legal papers. And there is a tray area on top for holding small items like pens, paper clips, etc. It latches securely and has a place for a small padlock if you need it. Altogether a well thought out product.

I initially bought this Storex Portable File Box with Storage Compartments to use as intended, for personal documents that I need access to frequently. However, upon receiving this great storage box, I realized how perfect it would be for my crochet works-in-progress. My yarn bowl and yarn fit inside perfectly and my crochet hooks, stitch markers and other accessories fit in the storage compartments on top. The handle makes it easy to take my work-in-progress with me anywhere, without concerns of losing hooks or anything like that. It will make a great portable file box as intended also. There's adapters to accommodate either size, regular or legal, hanging files. The box feels sturdy and the compartments latch closed securely to store pens, paper clips, post-its, etc, safely and conveniently accessible when you need them. I'll definitely buy another one for files this time. Great portable file storage box.

I purchased this file box in 2021 to organize my husband’s important documents, and it has held up incredibly well over the last three years. The looks are professional and clean, but the real benefit is the thinner, compact fit. It’s slim enough to keep hidden away under a desk, so it doesn't take up any unnecessary space in the room. The ease of assembly was straightforward, and the sturdiness of the plastic is impressive for the price. I especially find the built-in compartment on the lid to be a great addition; it’s perfect for keeping pens, highlighters, and paperclips right where you need them. My only minor complaint regarding sturdiness is that the small metal rods for the hanging folders can slip out of place somewhat easily. It can make the files a bit messy, but it’s a minor annoyance and very easy to fix. Overall, the lid closure is secure, and the ease of use makes it a great value for money choice for long-term document storage.

Wanted a legal size file box and this was one of the only options on amazon (if not the only). I'm not unhappy with it though. It is very solid. The handle has a rubbery grip, the lid opens and closes nicely, and the lock feels very secure. The thing that worries me is the hinge. its a very thin piece of plastic that seems like it could just tear right off if the lid was open and the box fell or something. Though nothing has happened yet, I feel like I need to be very gentle when flipping open that lid. I'd doc half a star for this, but overall i'm pretty happy with it so i'll let it round up :)
