The Royal Marsden Hospital Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures - Student Edition

As a 1st year nursing student you can become a bit over whelmed with the amount of information and books needed for this course. And with a tight budget you have to try and pick the best books that suit your needs at that time, as probably many of you out there know. I was recommended this book by a 2nd year nursing student who happened to be on the same ward as me at the time and I can't thank her enough for this and how helpful she was towards me. It's got to be one of the best literature purchases I've made to date. Esp as I now have essay no 2 to complete. It simplifies all the procedures making it easy for you to understand also giving you loads of good references which support this, unlike the professional version which a friend of mine on course has and she finds this version a little to in depth and of course more bulky. I have found the Student version ideal for helping with writing my essay, cause references as you know is what you need. With pently of pictures and diagrams to support, from Admin to how to wash your hands properly. An excellent reference book and I think essential for any students personal medical library. I hope this is of help as I also used similar feedback from amazon customers in order to finalize my decision to purchase.

I'm a frist year student nurse, and I find this book really helpful. Easy to follow, easy to read, lots of examples and rational for everything you need to know throughout your student nursing traning. This book is not as wide as the registered nurse one so its easier to fit in your bag, however its still a good weight to carry round! After learning skills in class its really useful to read further information on prodeduces and good practice in here. If you only plan on buying one book for your nursing this is it and it will be well worth it. The book is colour coded into sections making it easier to work your way through the chapters, great indexing. Not much more to say other than I am so glad I have this book its essential.

A very comprehensive nursing book! I am a Return To Practice nurse so I need something to refresh my knowledge. I received the book this morning and I have started reading it and I like what I have read, so far. I have skimmed through it to see what it has and it basically have everything you need to learn about in nursing! It's compact and concise with some visual aids. The book is around the paper size A5 and is very thick and heavy! This is the perfect book for nurses and nursing students, defo my bible for healthcare. Recommended!

I have had the previous 3 editions, unfortunately I did not notice this is the student edition....interesting but does not apply to the more advanced skills I am interested in. The words 'student' are not in bold..an expensive mistake on my part. Usual brilliant generic applications of excellent practice and, because it is for students, superb rationale. But, as can be anticipated from the student label, it lacks advanced skills application

This is an excellent buy and it contains a wide range of in depth information that I need for my assignments as student Adult Nurse. I fully recommend this book if you are looking for a skills book (as there are many to choose from!) it contains step by step procedures which are easy to understand, and lots of information on diseases, illnesses etc. As well as this it also provides loads of references that you can conduct further research on.

This book is perfect to learn about a variety of clinical procedures to help you improve your practice,making it safe and ensuring it is evidence based. I enjoy just reading it to expand my knowledge on not only procedures but also the research behind it. It provides good details on anatomy and physiology which helps you understand better the rational behind any procedures. Overall the book describe in details and in a clear manner how to perform many clinical procedures. It can be used as a quick check guide and be used in more detail study.

I would recommend this book to all practicing and student nurses. Excellent review of clinical procedures, easy format to read and find information.

Un must per ogni studente infermiere e per chi è già laureato. Preciso, ben scritto, aggiornato, ricco di immagine esemplificative, ricca bibliografia. Mi ha aiutato un'infinità di volte. Un testo assolutamente di riferimento. Consigliatissimo!

Este libro está bastante bien y completo. Pero el único fallo que le veo es que es demasiado grande, tal vez deberían separarlo en 2 ó 3 tomos porque se hace dificil de mover.

I was disappointed with the quality of paper in this book. As it is a reference book the paper used to print it would need to be of stronger more durable quality as it may be used a lot.

Un manuale ottimo per prepararsi sulle nozioni infermieristiche principali in inglese e utile per ripassare e allenarsi per colloqui di lavoro. Contiene procedure, evidenze scientifiche, temi generali inerenti l'infermieristica e il codice deontologico. Formato maneggevole e poco ingombrante. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
