CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!! My wife and I have used the Professional series Microplane for many, many years and loved them the whole time. That love affair has unfortunately come to an end. The new round handle 2.0 redesign is cr@p. I recently purchased a new 2.0 Professional Coarse grater to replace one that was worn out from years of heavy use. After just a couple times, the handle now spins on the plastic end pieces. As seen from other reviewers it eventually just falls apart! Just now, the handle spun while I was grating cheese causing me to slip and nick my finger!! POOR design, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and VERY “UN”-professional!!!! Raise the price if you must, but don’t lower the quality!!! Especially on a “Professional Series” product. MICROPLANE, if you’re seeing this, bring back the metal OVAL handles with the metal ends that don’t break. I WON’T be purchasing any more Microplane products until I know they are safe again!!

Very disappointed. I have an old microplane professional that I've loved for ~10 years, but it was starting to fail so I bought this to replace it. They changed the design and now the handle is plastic on the inside and where it joins to the body. One my third use it pulled apart. I didn't order the professional to get cheap plastic crap that comes apart while I'm using it!

Sharp. Works like a charm. Solid. Microplane is a dependable brand. I have 4 of their graters/zesters, different grate sizes.
