I bought the whole series and I have learned a great deal about the Christian thinking through the centuries. The thing about these books is that it does not matter if the reader agrees or disagrees with the arguments and ideas presented, the author presents his view of the main theological concepts in a very clear and understandable manner, which is extremely useful to anyone who wants to understand a little better why we think the way we think nowadays. Not a very pleasant reading but certainly an important, nay, an essential one. Review: Serious topic highly readable - I found this book beautifully written . However it certainly is an erudite text ! That being said taking the time to read it is worth it . No matter where you start the experience is a delight . The historic context is presented to the reader and makes clear just how what went on so long ago has given us what we have today .
