I just heard a "crack" in the kitchen, and found that the bottom of my lovely glass server had spontaneously broken away from the body. It was just sitting empty on the kitchen counter, and had been empty since this morning!!! I've never seen anything like this in my life. The bottom piece was quite thin, and it broke off very cleanly and smoothly.
