Excellent product, great for engaging children
Beautiful mushrooms, fascinating to read about them and watch them grow. A lovely family activity or gift. The pink oyster mushrooms are not readily available to buy easily all year around, so a great product! I would only comment that the box being a plain colour might be a little more chic than the marketing on the box.

Great product
Parcel delivered quickly and wrapped securely. Mushroom have a beautiful colour and you can visibly see them grow each day. Very easy to care for. Sadly some of ours shrivelled as we didn't know they needed to be harvested in one go but I didn't realise this at the time. Not sure if this could be more clear in the instructions or if I just missed it? hopefully the second batch will be more sucessful. I contacted the seller and they were quick to provide helpful advice. Would buy other varieties to try.

Really beautiful mushrooms, 1 crop only though...
Easy to start - I'd never grown mushrooms, these were delicious. However was disappointed to find out the mycelium only allowed for 1 crop even after 2 weeks of consistent watering post first harvest.

So fun and pretty
Bought this as a gift for my bf and he loves it. We have had 2 harvests of mushrooms so far. They grow really quickly once you start so it’s very exciting to see! They are beautiful mushrooms so pretty. We did cook them into a ramen and they had a very earthy taste and a bit of a chewy texture so not amazing but still edible and fun to eat something home grown.

Fantastic first crop, I'm not sure if I will get a second, but Im persevering. Beautiful looking crop. Lovely in stir fry but will be expensive I I can only get one crop from it.

I’m really not sure about this one
I grow mushrooms regularly from scratch, but I wanted to give something to my niece that looks a bit more decorative and easy to grow. She followed all the instructions, even turning down the heating in one of the rooms to keep the mushrooms “comfortable.” She got really excited when she saw some white stuff, but when I took a look I had to tell her it was mould. She didn’t want to just throw the whole thing away and asked me to take it out of the box and see if it’s salvageable, and I humoured her. I immediately noticed there was something wrong, because while the surface around the holes got wispy white/grey mould strands, there was absolutely no proper mycelium growth inside the straw block. It was just moist, rotting straw. I don’t know what went wrong, but honestly, it is quite suspicious. I have doubts about what the manufacturer is doing with these. Do they just sprinkle a bit of spores around the holes? Or liquid culture? And then hope for the best? I usually grow more delicate mushrooms that need a sterile environment throughout the whole process, so this one absolutely baffled me, as I’d never leave my substrate exposed this way before it was fully colonised by the mycelium (to avoid contamination, as a colonised substrate is much more resistant to that). We might have gotten a bad block or it just got contaminated when she was misting it, but the results are the same: one mouldy and rotten block of straw, £20 out the window, and one very sad child. I wish I could write a better review, especially after so many people had wonderful results with their blocks, but I cannot.

Very disappointing ready to grow mushroom box
I really liked this when I first got it. It was fun and it started to grow very quickly at first. I followed the instructions carefully, watering the three holes twice daily with a spray gun, and soon enough mushrooms started to grow. One hole had one single mushroom which grew well, the other two had a small bunch of mushrooms growing but they never opened and remained small. I had to harvest them as they were beginning to shrink. I carried on watering them as instructed for the second growth (it should take 2 to 3 weeks) but three weeks later, there is still no growth, so I guess no mushrooms will come out anymore. It was fun but over priced for the quantity of mushrooms, but most importantly you don’t get what is promised and what is advertised on the photos.
