Works Great!
Good glow and it kills bugs dead making this a good product for people and a horrible one for insects. Great for the price point, (unless you're an insect).

POP! Sounds like... VICTORY
Kills bugs dead! One light to zap them all, one light to find them, one light to bring them all, and in the darkness POP! One less fungus gnat. I had a real problem with fungus gnats (aka fruit flies). Nothing else made a dent in the population. This beautiful blue bastard blows up bugs with a somewhat-startling POP, and to me it sounds like VICTORY. Yes, it sends bugs (and bits of them) flying around when they feel the power of 4200 volts - as often landing a foot or more away as they end up in the catch tray in the bottom. Yes, the meatier bugs (moths especially) will take some time being electrocuted and will smell just awful. Yes, the unit lacks entirely a way to turn it on or off (I have it plugged in to a smart switch to solve that). But man oh man, do I love not being swarmed. This thing plus some permethrin spray around your entry points (but not near the zapper), and you'll be bug-free in no time. I've recommended it to everyone I know, and will keep recommending it.

So far, I'm loving it!!! Update after 2 months
I've had this product for over 2 months now and I'm still loving it. It has continued to zap all of the flying insects in my house including mosquitos (YESS!!!) and quite a few moths I didn't know existed in my house. I haven't noticed any smells from the zapped bugs that others have mentioned in other comments. Works all the time for me. It works great in the bedroom if you don't mind the bright light, but it gives me peace of mind when I sleep at night with the window open and that was worth every penny I spent on this. I still wish it had a longer cord and an on/off switch, but as long as it works, I'll take what I can get. I was so happy with it, I got one for my parent's house after they got bitten by a mosquito in the house numerous times. Since then, no more bug bites and it even zapped every moth and fly in the house to the point where the tray looked like a Swift concert with floor seats. Only all the occupants were dead. I definitely recommend this product if you have a bug problem in your house. 10/10 Update: I’ve had this zapper for a year now and it still works great as the day that I bought it. I’ve had no issues with the light bulbs ( still the original); still zaps all the bugs that unknowingly enter to their deaths; the light is still bright as hell in the dark. The loud sudden zap is still a little unnerving at times, but at I know it’s still working. Get one if you have a flying bug problem.

Allowed us to reclaim our picnic table and eat in peace.
After spending weeks landscaping our yard, we bought a picnic table to enjoy the outdoors in better weather. Made the area cute and invited some family over to grill. It was horrific. The bluebottles and mosquitoes appeared from nowhere and there were so many of them. We killed a few but they kept coming back like scenes from a horror movie. I've seen roadkill with less flies. We went inside and finished up in relative safety. Within minutes of eating I jumped online, read a couple of reviews and purchased this and a lantern hook to hang it on near the picnic table. It's obviously a cheaper plastic construction, and doesn't weigh much at all, but I honestly don't care because it's going to get bug guts all over it anyway. The cable is a little shorter than I would like but we plugged it into an extension so no big deal. Turned it on and went to go inside. Before I'd even taken a few steps, the first "snap" made me jump. I wasn't expecting it to work so quickly or honestly at all in bright daylight. On the way to the house I heard at least three more pops as the zapper did its job. When we first sat down to eat it was a little like a firecracker, but very quickly settled down and with only the occasional fly this was a completely different experience. When we're not using it outside, I've brought this in and hung it in the sunroom. At night it's so bright that all the insects gather at the window. I've seen some moths and giant beetles I'd never seen before. The occasional snap of a house fly or mosquito that has found its way inside reminds me that it's working. We're still on the same bulb a few months after purchase and have it on most days. It does scare the dog. Sorry dog. I'm not turning it off.

ZZZZZZAP
I bought this bug zapper thinking it would handle a few mosquitoes here and there. What I actually purchased was a tiny electrified portal to the insect underworld. The first night I plugged it in, the bugs in my backyard held what I can only assume was their final council meeting. Moths dive-bombed the light like they were reenacting an action movie. Mosquitoes disappeared mid-flight with little ZZZT sound effects that honestly felt personal. By 9 PM, the zapper had established complete air superiority. The neighborhood bugs now avoid my yard like it’s a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I watched a fly approach the patio, hear one zap in the distance, and immediately turn around like a soldier retreating from the front lines. The sound is incredible too. Every few minutes:ZZZT. That’s not a mosquito anymore. That’s a warning shot to the entire insect kingdom. Honestly, sitting outside with this thing running feels less like relaxing on the patio and more like overseeing the final battle in a sci-fi movie. If bugs could write Yelp reviews, this product would have thousands of one-star ratings and several formal war crime accusations. 10/10. The mosquitoes fear me now.

Only made for US 110v not 240V! Be careful..
Clearly only made for the US market and that should have been made very clear. Nearly explodes when plugged into 240V.
