If you know almost nothing of electronics you can figure out what she's saying (I'm an engineer...but you don't have to be one)... and with very little investment you too can become a "maker" -- if you want to see what's out there, visit a Maker Faire -- they are held in Michigan (Ann Arbor, Detroit), the West Coast, Atlanta...all over. And check out instructables online too -- you'll find many examples of embedded electronics in clothing. This book is probably the best "How-To" I've ever read. Get it, and you won't be disappointed. Best Book for Makers Everywhere. Buy it!

A great book that inspires the creative spirit
This is a very good book that establishes a solid foundation knowledge wise to help bring creative ideas to life. I especially liked that this book included how to use el wire and tape to really make your wearable electronics to life. For those of us who live near the Blackrock Desert, that’s pretty valuable information when Burning Man fires up. Most of all and more importantly this book provides a chance to teach my students something valuable in a context that inspires them.

A good introduction to wearables covering a variety of techniques
A good introduction to wearables covering a variety of techniques, sensors and boards. A good "idea" generator book. The author's experience as a faculty shows through as a well written "textbook" or "lab manual". Recommended as a first book on wearables.

I think the topic is interresting however not sure where ...
I think the topic is interresting however not sure where it will go. The book was well written but left me wondering about the value of wearable electroinics beyond the looks. I was expecting more insight into how to apply this as a technology that interfaces with the people wearing the electronics. Maybe their will be more to come as others discover how to use this technology?

I just loved this book
Kate explanations goes from the basics to the more advanced. Her book was very useful to me because I was interested in creating wearable clothes and I could understand the "how tos" as well as the the difficulties I could possible get into. There are easy and not so easy projects propositions

Beautiful, fun to read and informative
An incredible outpouring of creativity, highlighting some great tools and techniques. It showcases some really interesting projects from makers everywhere and left me with a bunch of new techniques and tons of inspiration!

Not happy being a robotics engineer, i wanted to explore fashion robotics, wanted to understand the fashion part of it too. Unable to return as they don't have return option. Don't buy.

Love this book!
This is a great book to start if you don't know much about electronics. I'm from a design background and know little to do with electronics but have found this book really helpful with my first wearables project. Great present for someone crafty :)
