will this reduce the strain on my neck when attempting sit ups? I usually experience intense pain in neck and shoulders doing sit ups, will this help?

Through poor technique with sit ups you may be straining and this will affect your upper spine and neck. This will help by allowing you to perform sit-ups correctly by supporting your lower back. Try to concentrate on the abdominal muscles and move as smoothly as possible, rather than jerking through the sit-up. I hope this helps, Paresh

Need a flat work out machine

Great work out machine no assembly great price

I want it for lying on the floor, flat on my back; would it be comfortable for that? Without support the arch in my back feels strained.

No not for lying flat, it’s to arched for that. What it’s awesome for is stopping to back bruising as it roles up off the floor after a sit up
