Revoltech: 038 Macross VF-1A Super Valkyrie Ichijo Hikaru Action Figure

I love this little figure. The Revoltech joints and accessories add a ton of customization and let you make some really cool looks. The most striking thing is the detail and overall quality. Sometimes with plastic figures there are issues with the paint job or the poor quality of the stamped pieces. Not really the case here, what you see in the pictures is very close to what you get.

This is a great little figure, packed with lots of detail and options. I love the realistic but slightly stylized look of this Valkyrie. Its easy to get this figure into lots of dynamic poses, either free standing or on the included display stand, and the fit of the removable parts nice and tight. My only criticism is that the head on this VF-1A figure does not have fantastic range of motion, so most of the time its looking downwards. I would guess that the VF-1J/S versions are better due to their more "head" like shape. Overall, great product. Would definitely buy again.

Having a couple of macross figures, i can say this is the best of all! The articulation is amazing, any pose you might imagine is posible. Comes with a ton of accesories, a lot of extra hands for poses, armor parts, and a stand! Also this is durable enough to be used as a toy, but the true value is for exposing it on a shelf. The only downsize is its size, barely 13 cm is rather small, but at 30sh price tag it is understandable.

I'll start with the Cons, then shift to the Pros. The Cons: (1) My primary disappointment with the collectible was a particularly loose joint. One arm -- at the elbow -- just flops around. This limits its poseability, and since the whole point of this toy (as I see it) is to pose and then admire it, this glitch was particularly depressing. However, this will obviously not be a problem with every model. I have another Revoltech Macross toy and none of the joints have this difficulty. Still, enough of us are going to end up with dud joints to make this worth mentioning. (2) As others have remarked, the toy is quite small. I had taken into account the measurements of the toy before ordering it and I was still a bit surprised when it arrived. For me, this isn't a major concern though. I also like the fact that it's to scale with the Zentraedi Regult. But buyers should be aware that the toy feels like it's about 3 and 1/2 inches in height. (One listing I've seen says it's 4 and 1/3 inches. That may be right, but I'd describe it as between 3.5 and 4 inches.) The Pros: Ridiculously poseable. Once you've worked it into a dynamic pose, it looks just great. If it were a $20 item -- $25 with shipping -- it would be completely worth it. I'd love to get more of them, but they're really not affordable (both for me and for what you're getting).

Simply a Fantastic Representaion of Robotech technology...haha! Keep in mind: the toy DOES NOT transform. It only is in robot form. But do not fret, the toy is still REALLY cool and Highly detailed; keep in mind that it is only about 5 inches tall.

The action figure is pretty well made and has lots of possibilities for posing the veritech battroid fighter, but it's honestly a little over priced. Keep in mind, it doesn't transform, and is really meant to be just used as a display model, but still, for what you get, it's not really worth it. There's other similar figures that are roughly the same size -- even a little larger -- that transform and are roughly the same price. So, you can make your choice. That being said, I still like it, and it's well detailed with regards to its paint job. I'm still glad I got it -- just wish it was a bit less pricey.

This is a great little toy, well detailed and easily poseable. Nice to display or use in a diorama. Would also work well in the background from larger more expensive versions of the Macross figures.
