Well made and reasonably priced for light security applications
Sturdy, smooth functioning and of reasonable size and weight for light security applications. I used them to secure my street clothes and effects in locker during trips to the gym and for external locks on firearms cases and luggage during travel. Dials are clearly numbered and a red line shows proper alignment of the combination for opening and closing the hasp. Directions for setting and changing the combination are clear and easy to follow, and printed on a card small enough to carry with you if you wish. The first one of this type which I bought continues to function well three years later, so I am willing to rate the product five stars.

Cheap/ will reset combo
Used this lock for a week before it locked up and rejected my combo. Gears aren’t smooth, not good quality. Advertised as “master lock” using the other brand’s name to deceive. Do not buy

These are my go-to locks for the gym
Over the past 20 years I've used this lock for lockers at a variety of high school pools, YMCAs, and gyms, and when I lose one or forget which gym/swim bag I've put it in, this is the one I buy again. I've tried other locks, but I always end up with this one. Here's why I love it. 1) SIZE. It's large enough that I can see the numbers without reading glasses, and small enough that it will fit into even the narrowest confines (some locker latchlocks have very narrow holes) where larger locks would be challenged. 2) EASY. It's easy to set the numbers of choice. Over two decades of use, I've never had the number reset issues others have described. That doesn't mean they don't happen--it just hasn't been my experience over long-term use with several of these locks. 3) STRENGTH: For the size, this is strong. It's not the big, beefy security lock. If someone has heavy-duty cable cutters, it won't stand a chance--but there's not a lot of that going on at the gym. I put my iPhone in the locker, feeling that it's more secure with this lock guarding it than in my car. 4) LIGHTWEIGHT: I put a ton of stuff in my gym/swim bag, and it's heavy. I don't need extra weight, and I like that this trooper is not only strong, but also lightweight and doesn't add to the burden. I haven't found a downside to this handy little lock. It would nice if it would go get my coffee after the swim, but I haven't found any of its competitors that will do that either. ;-)

Decent locks and best of all not TSA
These are decent locks and best of all they're not TSA! Why isn't TSA good? If you look at most TSA luggage locks - they all use the same key - and that key is very easy to get (cheap TSA key locks often use the same key as the TSA key for one thing). So "TSA Locks" usually means that *anybody* can open your luggage. So TSA locks are generally worse than zip ties (my favorite - who's got zip-ties to replace ones they cut? Mostly nobody). So I like these. And if TSA wants to cut them they can - and often do anyway even for TSA locks - but I feel more secure. Usual caveats apply - with some diligence you can pick these - as indeed I had to do once per my note below - but it does take time and practice (which on travel is sometimes dictated by need) The one complaint is that resetting/changing the combination is accomplished by a *small* turn of the hasp with a *small* depression/pressure on the hasp. Easy enough eh? Well - too easy. In fact, I once accidentally changed the combination by just normal handling of the lock while accessing a backpack at Jambo. Didn't notice it until I next tried to get into it! So I had to pick it. Took about half hour - and that was figuring the new combo was "close" to the old one and trying fewer sets. Lastly - do check size. These aren't the super tiny ones - and as such a bit heavier (would be heavy for a purse) - and also the shank is a bit bigger. I had to slightly open the zipper pull holes on a Jambo bag to get the hasp to fix. Well worth it. All in all these are the best value for decent security for bags while traveling.

PERFECT AND VERY HELPFUL LOCK
I HAVE FOUR OR FIVE OF THESE LOCKS AND THEY ARE PERFECT FOR SECURING DUFFLE BAGS AND BACKPACKS AND LUGGAGE AS THEY HAVE A 4-DIGIT COMBINATION. ORIGINALLY, I WAS CONCERNED THAT THE LOCK DOESN'T HAVE A DEEP ENGAGEMENT; HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T NEED ONE. IT IS A THIN NICE APPEARING LOCK, EASY TO HIDE UNDER A BAGGAGE STRAP AND IS EASY TO LOCK AS IF FITS THROUGH SMALLER OPENINGS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCK BECAUSE YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING TO USE THEM ON.

Combination doesn't work - poor build quality of the locking mechanism
I bought two of these to use on a Pelican case. First one I opened and set the combination as instructed. It's a simple four step process so even I could do it. So I thought! I have a BA Hons and MA in architecture and Diploma in construction law so I thought i could handle it. I set the first one and tried to open and it stayed locked. I thought, maybe I messed this one up so I checked instructions and slowly went through, step by step, and the same thing, it locked and didn't open. Went back to the first one and tried again. It opened!!!! OK, I was excited and locked it and tried the other - it wouldn't open. Went back to the first and tired it again and NOW it wouldn't open! Both won't open and they are locked but I'll keep trying! Very surprised as I have several other Master's combination locks and they work great. It seems the mechanism is loose and poorly fitting and I'm thinking the teeth are a fraction off alignment and that's all it takes to jam it up.

Great lock. I uses it daily on my work locker. I drop it often and it still hasn't broke. Easy to change codes

I wanted a lock with 4 numbers, because I figured it would be harder to brute force (trying every combination), but this lock is just terrible. I can unlock it in less than 30 seconds with my eyes closed. If you don't believe me, close your eyes, then apply pressure to the lock like you're trying to open it, then turn the first knob until there's a click, then the second knob, then the 3rd, then the 4th, and it will easily open. I wish the clicks were at least not obvious, but you can very easily tell that it is in on the correct digit. It has a very satisfying click like, "yes, that's the correct number!" Ugh. So yeah, unfortunately I will have to return this.

Excellent little lock. The combination can be easily set and locked. I have not accidentally changed the combination, but if you fiddle with the lock without paying attention to what your doing, you may.

Works as it should, but too big for luggage if that is what you want it for. I use it on my tack box so people can't use my horses things without asking. One issue was that it chanfed its lock code and even though I followed the instructions to change it back it didn't work -- so now I just use a new lock code and hope it doesn't change again.

Wasn’t terribly impressed when I received it, feels cheap. The “hoop” only goes into the lock body by a fraction of an inch, didn’t feel terribly secure, but you get what you pay for. After about 6 weeks of use on a locker at work, would no longer open despite the correct combination being put in. Had several coworkers also try; spun all 4 wheels back and forth in both directions in hopes of “resetting” it before putting the correct combination back in, to no avail. Eventually had to cut it off, now going to replace with a brand name option.
