Very good quality of the inc!
I love Waterman inc. If you like ultra flexing, this inc is ideal. Very watery which allows more of it to get into the feed. The color looks awesome, flow is incredible, and most importantly no clogging.

Waterman Black is the Best Ink
Waterman Black is my #1 ink and I have hundreds from which to choose. It performs perfectly in fountain pens at flow, consistency, coverage, wetness and has become the ink I use to test new pens. These days it has a permanent home in a medium nib and a stub nib. No other ink can boast of that honor though Waterman Mysterious Blue comes close. If I were to recommend two inks to someone new to fountain pens, Waterman Black and Mysterious Blue would be the ones.

Nice and dark
Color is as dark as it should be and non-clogging. Not terribly smooth writing compared to the Japanese brand, but better color. Better for a fine nib than medium due to a small amount of spread. Plus the cap cracked when I first opened it so I need to be REALLY careful when refilling.

Very nice ink!!! I’m very satisfied…
This ink is very lovely… I filled my pen, tried it on just regular loose leaf paper and it writes beautifully, very minimal bleed through, mainly where I use dots or had a heavy hand… it dries in about 15 seconds with no smudging after that… I’m very happy with this ink… thank you!!!

Good black ink
This isn't my favorite black ink but it is good. I use it in my Waterman Carene. The quality is good. to me it has some grey in it a little more than I would like. but over all a good quality ink that seems to have a little water resistance once dried. I dont smell anything from it other thank the ink. I do like the bottle design, you can tilt it on its side to help fill pens. That is well thought out. over all it's a good ink for its price.

It's not all about the nib
In '88 my sister gifted me with a stainless steel Sheaffer Targa with a medium nib. I wanted a good, flexible pen for final copy of music compositions. Cartridges of Sheaffer Skrip were all I had readily available at the time; suffice to say, the learning curve was steep and the results remained unacceptable. For years I occasionally tried going back to what I had seen in others as good results; but, the Skrip ink ran, feathered and blobbed, and I became convinced that it was the pen or the nib that were faulty. Three years ago I bought a Cross Bailey with a medium nib along with Cross ink cartridges, and the results were better albeit marginally. Having some extra time and many final drafts to copy over, I asked myself: how could two storied pen makers get it wrong in nearly the same way? This started me researching fountain pen ink. Once I gathered, from various resources, anecdotal evidence about the many varieties of inks and their qualities and characteristics, then I compiled a comparisons list and keyword descriptors and critiques. This ultimately led me to Amazon to make a decision. I ordered a converter for each, the Targa and the Bailey, and a bottle of Waterman's jet black and Waterman's inspired blue for each pen, respectively. Admittedly, I kept my expectations low from years of horrible results and disappointments; but, since I wasn't spending a mint and I still hadn't found an adequate solution to hand writing beautiful printable copy of my compositions, I figured, meh, what the hell. Wow, was I surprised! The Waterman's inks flowed smoothly and precisely from both pens. The ink dried quickly and did not feather, run or blob; in fact, the parchment I use to blot has but the faintest specks of residual ink. Again I have to say: wow! If I let the nib rest on paper the ink does begin to flow, but not remotely as watery or blobby as Sheaffer Skrip or Cross cartridge inks. The control of line thickness with Waterman's ink in both fountain pens is precisely what I sought in a pen 32 years ago when my sister asked me what I would like for my birthday. I am immensely satisfied.

What a Difference an Ink Makes
What a difference an ink makes. Waterman Intense Black is a great ink. It’s not as black black as I expected an ink with a name like Intense Black to be, but its interpretation of black is pretty great. I then began to see why some pen enthusiasts are also ink enthusiasts and have multiple shades of black from multiple manufacturers along with multiple other colors swatched in fancy notebooks with fancy paper I never heard of before. Count me in. I write a lot. Mainly, until recently in the notes app on my phone but pen and paper and ink while analog deepen the connection I have with the words I write. I’ve written with 2 different pens with this ink. A W&B extra fine nibbed pen and a Pilot MR Animal White Tiger with a medium nib. The pens write differently. Though you’d need a micrometer to measure the differences. Even though the ink is the same the pens left different lines and swoops. I liked the ink out of the W&B pen a hairline better. The ink arrived well packaged, on time and ready to be dispensed. The bottle looks great where I write. The bottle designed to be tipped on its side to be able to draw as much ink as possible shows me Waterman cared about its end users experience without gouging them, which makes me like them even more. I’m a fan Waterman.
