Alright, I never write reviews for products but I felt required to write one for this hatchet. I'll try and keep this organized and concise. Pros: - Great steel; I took this for a brutal chopping session on a decently thick log(see pictures). Edge held very well, any possible damage can be sharpened out in less than 5 minutes. - Sharp; this thing is sharp, and I mean SHARP. I've already accidentally cut myself twice with it. I made the mistake of doubting it while unboxing and ran it lightly across my palm. Well, yeah, I cut myself. - Nice Balance; This hatchet is NOT very top-heavy. However, it still chopped 10 times better than my previous hatchet, which WAS top-heavy. - Thin; the thin blade of the hatchet provided really nice cuts into the wood. As previously mentioned, the edge held well, so I don't see any negatives of the thin blade yet. - Well, of course, I have to mention how sick the designs on the hatchet looks. My testosterone levels tripled as I chopped. Cons - Sheath is not terrible, but could definitely be more well-made. I won't bother buying a new one because this one still serves its purpose, but again, quality could be better. - It's too beautiful haha, it took me a few minutes before I could use full power because I didn't want to dirty the blade. Overall, the product is amazing. Compared to my previous hatchet, well, they can't even compare. This one surpasses it in every aspect. Great edge, balance, feel, and chopping effectiveness. The badass aesthetic of it is just an added bonus.

Very solid hatchet, Love the design, and i've already put it to use! Cut down and old baby tree with no problems whatsoever. Came moderately sharp, which was perfectly fine with me! There were no blemishes at all, and has held up great.Very nice hatchet.

Beautiful detail on the blade. The wood handle is nice craftsmanship. Has a feeling of sturdiness. I tried throwing this blade, it flies well and is weighted nicely. The problem is it's not made to be a throwing axe & the handle wood split. Probably good durability when used properly.

I love the hatchet, it feels great an the art looks great But I'm unsatisfied with the nylon sheath. The product was described to come with a nylon sheath that included a belt loop which was a huge part of what I wanted for it, plus it was described to come with a sort of survival flint striker which also was not included. On top of these two issues I have with my purchase the pick edge did not seem to be sharpened at all. It's an amazing hatchet but I would like a new sheath that was described for this purchase.

Not only is this a beautiful hatchet it works well. I have never owned one so called a professional sharpener about making a finer or wider edge on it. He explained to me they come with the edge they do so that the blade won't break and it was fine. The edge has held up well except when I stupidly got obsessed with trying to chop a two by four across the gain. Then a couple small chips occurred. You are supposed to chop WITH the grain.

As long as your not trying to be ultra ultralight for backpacking. I am a backpacker and make only 2 exceptions. One for my ultralight chair (nonessential) and one for this hatchet which is not ultralight but ultra durable, useful, effective, beautiful and dangerous. This is not just a hatchet it is a weapon and a very deadly one, not for careless children and adults are advised to watch very closely how they pull it back with that point on the end facing you. My friend wants be to grind that down but I think that in time I will find it useful, I will not be sharping it however since I've already hit myself with it once breaking the skin. It's not a bad thing if you can keep from hurting yourself and if it has to be used as a weapon either side is certainly deadly. I feel safer with it attached to my side backpacking at night listening to large animals walking through the swamp not knowing what they are it's like whatever just put it in your hand be ready if something runs out of the brush. This is a BEAUTIFUL tool the wood handle looks and feels wonderful I've used it to chop trees at camp very solid this is legit not for decor it's attached to my hip all the time now in public, like a gun but more useful.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He absolutely loves it and shows it off to everyone. It is very sturdy made well and the handle is real cherry wood I believe. It has the wolf on both sides and is heavy. It is very well made more than I or he expected for the money I would absolutely buy again for a gift. Very pleased in the quality craftsmanship.

Kept it in the garage for a couple years. Found it and put it to use . The fifth time I split a couple of pieces of fireplace wood, the hatchet blade shank broke in 2 pieces at the handle rivets. What kind of garbage are you people selling? I find more and more crap surfacing from Amazon all too frequently.
