Works well. The first few times the temp didn't go above 116. Used it with a towel over it and temperature increased nicely and now the temperature get's nice and warm without covering. Maybe it has a break in period. Fit's well on my medium size body and can be adjusted to get a nice snug fit. This type of therapy is working well in treating pain associated with shoulder issues. Happy with this purchase.

At first, I was going to purchase a different, less expensive product. I had shoulder surgery a few months ago and needed some heat treatment after all of the time using cold therapy. My orthopedic doctor suggested using heat now. What sold me on this one was the temperature control. The other one had only 3 settings. This one has exact numbers, up to 150 degrees, I believe. Now mind you, it does not get quite as hot as it says, but it is plenty of heat. I have had to turn it down on numerous occasions. I was also a bit worried about the fitting. I watched a video of one reviewer, and the UTK looked pretty loose. That is not the case. I have adjusted it to my liking. I highly recommend this product, particularly if you are recovering from shoulder surgery. Follow your orthopedic's orders. If they say to apply heat, this is what to get!

I took a star away because of those Jade stones. OK, I do like this infrared heating pad for the shoulder. However, it comes with 24 flat Jade stones that are supposed to get hot and spread out the heat. BUT they can burn your skin. Ouch. I have a torn rotator cuff and my shoulder is sensitive. As I put the heating pad on, the Jade stones are hard and hot and hit my sore spot and hurt. I want to cut them out but my wife does not want me to ruin it. I do not think it will ruin it. For the time being, I just put a dry wash cloth over my shoulder to buffer the underside of the heating pad. Here is a big tip for all. The heating pad has a cable coming out where the remote is connected. The control box is smaller than a deck of cards. easy to use and has a large display. Then the cable continues for abut 2 feet. Next there is a part that plugs into the wall and has a long cable. It must be 6 feet. Well, you need to connect these 2 cables. The one from the remote and the one that. plugs into the wall. I plugged them into each other. It looks like a typical barrel connector. But is would not stay in without me holding it. Sometimes it would stay but jiggle out. I was not happy it was a loose connection. I did not see anything in the booklet. So figured it was defective. I did a return on Amazon. Amazon sent me a new one ASAP, the next day. Well at 2am, I was looking at it and saw a notch on the connection. I then saw another notch on the other side of the connection. I looked at the other cable and saw the same notches. I then figured out that the same notches connect together. Ouch. I finally figured it out. The 2 cables connect in specific way and then lock in place. It was 2am and the new heating pad was to arrive between 5 and 8 am. So I could not stop it. I returned the new replacement and added a comment / note "The company should put a tag on the end to say "cord locks into place. Align notches. There was no mention of this or I did not see it. It does get hot which is nice and stays hot for up to 2 hours. Much better than my old OG heating pad that only got warm and cut off after 15 minute. This infrared heating pad is great.

Comfortable. Gets warm. Does NOT reach temps over 114 degrees and it takes almost an hour to reach that. It advertises up to 159 degrees.

The reviews were mixed here and Amazon offered word of caution so I was hesitant in ordering. However, I'm pleased to say the product does exactly what the manufacturer says it will do! I'm 5'5'' and was concerned about ordering L/XL - but again, no worries as it fits me fine. It stays on my arm while I work at my desk, it warms up to proper temp quickly, and delivers pain relief! If you wear a think shirt, you can lower the temp so it doesn't get too hot and if you're wearing a thick shirt it will heat up enough to go through that. It's an amazing product.

I'm reviewing the UTK Far Infrared Shoulder Heating Pad.... Pros: The pad 'eventually' gets warm enough to provide decent heat to a shoulder. Cons: Takes a long time to get warm. Showstopper: The plug (powerblock) temperature reached 141 degrees! This was measured using an Etekcity LASERGRIP 774 infrared thermometer. Details: I set the temperature control to 159 degrees. After 40 minutes the temperature of the pad maxed out at 133 degrees and would get no hotter. The powerblock temperature reached 141 degrees. I plugged the powerblock directly into the wall. No extension cord. In my opinion, a powerblock that reaches 141 degrees is not safe so I returned the item directly to Amazon and they honored a full refund. This is the second time I posted this review. The first posting mysteriously disappeared.

This shoulder pad is awesome. I have 2 torn rotor cuffs. Im 62 years. Heats up to 160 degrees. It stays on as long as the timer is set. I previously returned 2 others. 1st heat pad didnt work without a strong USB connector and then didn't get very hot at all. 2nd one didn't heat up as described either. Can use on Left and right shoulder and very easy to wear. I heat up 1 teaspoon of castor oil for about 15 seconds, then massage it in my shoulder area. I then cover my shoulder area with plastic wrap to keep heating pad free of oil. Leave heat pad at least an hour. Awesome pain relief
