I cannot say enough things about how amazing this thing is.
The Wirecutter recommended this as their 'upgrade pick'. It's expensive but my previous spinner bag had a busted wheel and after a long tour of duty I felt it was time for something new. Something nice. I treated myself to this bag and I'm so glad I did. I quickly added a duffel bag / underseat carryon bag which helpfully fits right on the handles of this 22 inch spinner bag. I can walk around in an airport at a fast pace deftly maneuvering this 4-wheeled wonder through even the busiest terminals. But getting there is only half the fun, what's it like when you get there? This bag is unbelievably well designed with thought given to how to make use of every cubic inch of space. A zippered pouch lined orange for small items. A pocket for travel documents. Room for three hangers of clothing. A large front pocket perfect for my MacBook Air. With all the main supports heavily armored with tough plastic to not only provide protection of the goods inside but also serving to maximize the internal space. It might feel a tiny bit loosey-goosey but this is absolutely to the thing's benefit. The bend-dont-break model makes this an incredibly robust piece of luggage. Able to stand up to the daily abuses of travel even if that travel is an extended period of time. I spent 34 days on the road in the fall 2023 with this Briggs & Riley 22-inch spinner bag and was always grateful to have it as my constant companion on an unforgettable trip.

Just plane awesome
After decades of dragging a two wheeler my wrist and shoulder were complaining l loudly and begging me to change to a spinner. As a flight attendant, I don’t have time (or patience) for fussy luggage—and this 22-inch spinner from Briggs & Riley gets it. First of all, it rolls like butter. We’re talking four double spinner wheels that glide through airports smoother than a first-class upgrade. Tight aisle? No problem. This baby pivots better than me dodging a gate-change announcement. The exterior is tough enough to survive being gate-checked, dragged down jet bridges, or stuffed in the overhead bin Tetris-style. Plus, the compression-expansion system is a game-changer—it expands to fit all your layover secrets (snacks, extra shoes, and that one hotel towel you definitely “borrowed”), then compresses down to a sleek carry-on that always fits the bin. Interior? Organized like a galley cart. Mesh pockets, compression panels, and just enough compartments to make you feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you’re running on four hours of sleep and coffee fumes. Use a Beis weekender on top. No tipping, no struggles and I could easily pack for an extended trip which I really wish I’d done that time the Icelandic volcano exploded and left me stranded in Paris for 8 days. More fun than it sounds. Washing your undercrackers in the hotel coffee pot gets real old real quick. Bottom line: It’s durable, stylish, professional, and practically flies itself. If you’re living that crew life—or just want to travel like you are—this bag is your new favorite coworker.

Classic and Functional!
I ADORE Briggs & Riley and saw this for a slightly better price than at the store. It's so smart looking, holds so much and is perfect as a carry on (empty) to pack all your purchases from trips, and a few snacks :) It fits on the handle of my larger one. I love the Navy color - it's classic. Pricey? Yes - but well worth it. HIGHLY recommend

Packs a lot!
It's a great suitcase. So much capacity. You can fit much more in this well organized case than in a case of similar size.

Good Suitcase
I bought this suitcase to pair with the B&R duffle bag. The combo is perfect! I've mainly used the duffle, and my wife the suitcase. The size of the suitcase is to be expected since we're talking about standardized sizes. For most domestic travel this suitcase will fit in the overhead bin or luggage rack. However, this suitcase has a unique feature that allows you to fold up a suit or two, or a couple dresses. This makes traveling with nicer attire much easier, giving you the storage of a larger suitcase in a smaller form. The build quality is to be expected with the price tag. Immaculate, great attention to detail with leather accents and embossing, high quality zippers, etc. No loose threads or any sign of lower quality. The outside is rugged! Despite going through several trains and stations, across old parking lots and downtown sidewalks, I have zero issues with scratches. I've had one issue with this suitcase so far, hence the 4 stars. For $700 I expect a suitcase to be perfect. I read a few review about people having issues with the wheels steering straight. I experienced this problem after arriving at our hotel. After I slid the B&R duffle over the handle, I noticed that while my left hand was driving, the wheels remained perfectly straight and there was no issue. When I switched to my right hand, I could feel the wheels pulling away from me, which required me to torq the handle to get the bag to stay straight. Oddly enough, I experienced this immediately upon first use, but the problem seemed to greatly diminish after running the wheels over some asphalt through normal use. However, it's worth mentioning as I don't believe you should have a single problem when paying this much money for a single piece of luggage. Despite the amazing guarantee, who wants to have to return something so soon after purchase and pay for the extra shipping? Overall this bag does what it set out to do. I'm going to CLOSELY monitor the wheel situation, and will update my review if things change (for better or for worse).

Worth the money!
Very happy with my purchase. You can tell the quality and craftsmanship that went into this suitcase. It may seem like a lot of money, but if this is something that lasts a lifetime, why not get the best!

Fantastic travel bags
I had purchased a Briggs and Riley wheeled carry-on and overnight bag a number of years ago at a high-end luggage store. When I needed a larger bag, I couldn’t find a match locally. Enter Amazon. They had the exact bag I needed. I’ve done a fair amount of travelling and they still look like new. They’re extremely durable (great zippers and reinforced corners), lots of pockets, easy to manoeuvre and they look classy. They are a bit more expensive, but you’re definitely paying for a high quality product. I doubt I’ll ever need to replace these.

Wonderful space, wheels glide, LT warranty. Retractable handle has play is concern.
Coming from 13 years of a Tumi 22-inch, 2-wheeled Alpha, was expecting alot of this product, as it is widely viewed as the best in the market. The lifetime warranty is what really convinced me to buy, when there was a sale and got this for $500. Got the 21 inch global model, as I don't want to have to stress in the slightest for dimension checks around the world. Have used for about 15 trips thus far. Positives: Love the room as the handle being mounted outside does make a difference when packing. Compression system is very good. I do worry about how it will hold up, but that is where the lifetime warranty comes in to quell concerns. Good innovation here as it basically takes your packing cubes into compression packs when CX system is compressed. Wheels make for pretty effortless navigation on hard surfaces. Carpet and uneven concrete/asphalt you do have to pull it or risk catching. Seem very sturdy. Side and top hand handles are wonderful and sturdy. Do like the very small top zippered outside compartment at the top. Can keep the smart strap stored in there. Good location. Being 21 inch Global model will never have to worry about measurements at any airport. Smart strap works as advertised with the other checked luggage in BR line. Tumi's was good, this is equal. Negatives: Heavy at 9.9 pounds. This is not ideal, but part of the trade offs in getting a features packed bag I think. Retractable handle. I have been disappointed, it isn't more sturdy. I can feel the play in the handle when I push on 4 wheels. Certainly works well for now, but Tumi has a more solid feel as it is embedded. I have a feeling this will have to be addressed sooner rather than later with the lifetime warranty. The tri-fold garmet holder I haven't figured out yet. Used numerous times and don't really feel it does a great job, but after all I'm sure they debated on the wording. It is "wrinkle reducing" not wrinkle free. Hopeful to try different methods in future as the foam roll bar should be a big plus. One zipper has already fallen off outside, but that could be an anomaly. Overall Great bag, huge space, good innovation with compression system, wheels are sturdy and glide. Really concerns about it lasting are covered by the lifetime warranty. I'm not near a repair center however, which means it will be a pain to get anything done, not painless. Biggest concern and why it isn't 5 stars are the retractable handle, it isn't solid and has play, when pushing on anything but flat hard surfaces, you really feel the play. As it is a lifetime warranty it really should be the last carry on bag I buy.

Good things come in small packages
There is no doubt you are paying for the quality and workmanship. My only concern is the size. It’s a bit smaller than typical carry ons. I wish i can compare it with the 21” global or sympatico to know if the size difference really matters, but I can make it work. Also, if you’re looking for a lightweight luggage, this might not be for you. However, the overall value for what you paid for is something you won’t regret. Im happy and satisfied, and would highly recommend. Wish BR will offer in Navy colour. Update: Used this luggage on my recent trips, and found the compression mechanism to be great and helpful. The wheels glided smoothly without any struggle, and the body was sturdy and balanced. This luggage added ease to my travel experience. Also realized that the smaller size can even be advantage since a lot of aircrafts now have smaller overhead cabin that will not fit bigger carry-ons. Two thumbs up!

Great carry on!
Love the case! Very well built and great quality. Glides very smoothly. Compression system is awesome. It is in the heavier side though so might run into weight issues with airlines. Slightly wider for continental flight- again you could run into with cabin storage issues with smaller aircraft. The suiter is not as good as Tumi. I would like to see an hangar for the suiter and a slightly bigger compartment, weight reduced, slightly, and more height adjustments for the handle. Overall great product.
