The seamless blending of science and story make learning fun, and readers will be inspired to appreciate the world around us! Great for anyone looking for: Kids books about weather Books about rain for kids that talk about the water cycle and clouds A gift idea for the kids in their life. Home schooling materials. Rain books to use in schools and libraries! Review: Amazing book! - Loved this book - the poem at the beginning to look for the face in the raindrop on every page, the fact that water we use/don't use affects the entire world, the amazing pictures, and the science details at the end of the book! Review: Educational - A Drop Around the World This book follows a drop of water around the world thru many watery avenues. It is interesting as well as educational for kids. My son's Montessori school had this book on their wish list so I bought it and donated it to them. I also purchased a copy for us at home. This helps teach water conservation. There isn't an actual plot or story. The drop of water runs in a stream, is drunk by a cow, comes out in her milk. It also is evaporated and returns as rain and later as snow. All the different ways that water is part of our world. My boy is 4 but this book was interesting at 3 and will continue to be of interest for more years to come. If you want your child to be environmentally aware this is an excellent book.

Detailed
A great read! Perfect for upper elementary. I'm not sure I'd use this in my first grade classroom. At least not to teach from. I love the extra details in the illustrations - this is the part that definitely makes me think it's perfect for grades 2 and up. I don't think the front cover matches the inside at all. It's too elementary, which is why I purchased it. The inside illustrations are much more detailed and specific to each location - which is fantastic. But just not for the younger reader.

Good information here
Good information here, but the writing is a little campy. Still, I will use the book in my classroom and it will be great. It has a good concept, illustrating the water cycle in an engaging way, and will be very instructional. The students (grades K-2) will probably LOVE the way it rhymes. Me? Well, its not one of those books I will want to read over and over, but I'm glad to have it.

There’s a hidden droplet on (almost) every page
I enjoy reading this book to my son because the rhyming is clever and he likes to look for the little droplet on each page.

fabulous
I'm a 4th grade teacher and this is a great introduction or conlusion to the water cycle. The story takes us on an adventure of where Drop the main character goes- cow's stomach, on mountain peaks, floods, coral reef, etc. The vocabulary goes right along with water cycle and cloud vocabulary. There is also more advanced words but detailed colorful pictures for scaffolding. The kids enjoyed finding Drop on each page. This book could also be used for geography, sequence of events, and maybe context clues or learning new vocabulary. My only con was that it took awhile to read. You will need 30 minutes to read aloud and give kids a chance to process and share what happened on each page if you have ELLs. This is a must have for intermediate and higher grades!

Loved,’loved, loved this book
I never knew a book could be so beautifully illustrated about a raindrop. We used this book as part of the reading for Build your library level 0. An awesome addition to read if you’re also doing a weather and plant unit

Fantastic Water Resource
I am a big fan of Dawn Publications and A Drop Around the World is no exception! This engaging book tells the story of the water cycle using an engaging story and language that younger learners will connect with. I have used this as a centrepiece in units about water and it is always a hit with students. Excellent book!
