This 9 lb. pail of Peanut Butter Flavor Rodenticide Bait Blocks has been a game changer. I’ve tried traps, smaller bait packs, and other brands before, but this is the first one that made a noticeable difference quickly. The peanut butter scent is strong (but not overwhelming), and it definitely attracts rodents. The blocks are firm and hold up well in different conditions—they don’t crumble easily and last a long time in bait stations. That’s a big plus since I don’t have to constantly replace them. The large pail is also a great value. Plenty of bait for ongoing maintenance, especially if you’re dealing with a barn, shop, garage, or larger property. It’s simple to use—just drop the blocks into a secure bait station and let them do their job. Overall, very effective, long-lasting, and worth every penny. If you’re serious about rodent control and want something reliable, this is a solid 5-star product.

My neighbor has chickens, turkeys, and ducks. He started getting pickup truck loads of almost expired bread to help supplement feed costs and piling it in his garage. Before I knew it there was a serious rodent problem that not only came to my property but also chewed holes through my patio walls into my house. I called an exterminator as soon as I heard noises in the walls and he set rodent bait stations, gave us glue boards for inside and told us it was a waiting game until it started to thin them out. In the meantime, he is checking the bait stations every two weeks and the bait is gone but the rodents are not. I had a 13 month contract and during that time the rats and mice in my walls chewed a hole behind my 3 month old dishwasher, completely shredding the wiring harness and I had to get another dishwasher. They also chewed the washer and dryer "guts" destroying them and making me replace them as well. Mind you this was after several months of paying an exterminator a ridiculous amount of money with no satisfaction. The problem got worse the longer the "professional exterminator company" was contracted. At the end of the contract I decided I couldn't do any worse than he could and bought my own bait stations. I could buy 3 buckets of bait for what this company was charging me...per month. I chose this bait cause it had good reviews. The bait came first, there was some kind of problem delivering the stations but I could not wait so I put some long, thin nails on some 2x4's and placed the poison on them. The next day, half the bricks were gone, so I added more bricks, same next day, same next day. I kid you not, after 5 days and before the stations even arrived all the rodents were gone. I set the 6 stations out and barely had any of them eaten since. No more visible rodents, no more poop on my patio, no more poop in my animal food bins, they are all gone. I live on 3 mostly wooded acres with my own chickens, turkeys, ducks, pheasants etc and have not seen one sign of a rodent since day 5. I will continue to check the bait stations and resupply as needed cause living in the middle of nowhere with many birds makes my property a great place for rodents to find but I have no more problems, even with the extra cold Dec we are having. Before this bait we were fighting and losing an extremely frustrating and very expensive war with rats and mice. If you are considering getting this bait, stop considering and do it, you will not be disappointed. I cannot express enough how satisfied we are with this product.

I have been finding mouse (rat?) poop on my kitchen counter and I can hear one behind my dryer that has been going in and out of the dryer vent. I bought traps that the mouse goes in so that I don't have to touch them. I can just pick up the thing and throw it away. it has a green brick of poison inside with a clear lid. NOTHING HAPPENED. I even paid $20 for the black plastic box that has a mousehole in it and you put batteries in it and it can zap 800 mice at a time and kills them instantly., The green light goes on when you have a mouse inside. Black zapping box did not work. Did not catch anything. I took the green bricks out of the black boxes with clear lids thinking maybe my mouse/rats are too big to get inside them. So since I had the green bricks. I just tore those boxes apart and put green bricks behind dryer and under kitchen sink where I had mouse droppings. To my amazement the green bricks are gone so they must be eating them. But didn't find anything dead. So I bought this big bucket of peanut butter flavored bricks mixed in with the green. I read all the comments and they all said they had success with them. DO NOT TOUCH THE BRICKS WITH YOUR HAND. Mice can sense human smell and will not go near it for a few days. So I wore doctor's latex gloves to put them out so my scent wouldn't be on them. I got a pail of 144 bricks in 2 days from Amazon. Last night I put a few bricks behind the dryer and a few under the sink. This morning, I had a dead rat halfway in and halfway out of my dryer vent. So I was correct that's how they were getting in. Removed rat -- and he was too big to fit in those silly little trap boxes. I put 4 more bricks outside the dryer vent so they can fill up on them before trying to enter the vent again and I put a bunch on the other side of the house where I think they're getting into the kitchen. I had no success with standard green bricks, or zapper boxes or the throw aways. USE THESE PEANUT BUTTER BRICKS. Overnight success!!! Now I'm curious to see how many more dead ones I'll find. Don't waste your money on the other ones. This stuff works fast and they love peanut butter. Good luck. THESE ARE POISON -- DO NOT PUT ANYWHERE DOGS OR OTHER ANIMALS CAN GET TO THEM.

I have been using this exact product for about 7 years now and it does a pretty good job but you will go through a Lot of the poison baits so be prepared

I ordered 2 buckets of these bait blocks (2 x 144 blocks) in 2018. They seemed to be awesome. Used them in Washington State in shop and garage and haven't had any issues. Used them in SE Oklahoma relatively successfully for a couple years. We placed them strategically in our cabin, in the shop, & inside & under the hood of our vehicles to keep the mice from eating anything, especially the housing on electrical wires, etc. We're gone about half the year, so the mice could have a free-for-all for months at a time; thus the aggressive preventive measures. The first year, the blocks were just totally intact when we came back months later. No damage anywhere. We removed the blocks in the vehicles, and left the others in place. Same procedure every time we leave for a long period of time. The second year after returning, I noticed lots of little green residue around many of the blocks. I figured uninvited spiders & bugs were eating the seeds. No biggie. I did notice a few little flying critters in my bathroom, and I thought they were "silverfish". The blocks looked like bugs had been nibbling on them -- little green residue around the blocks. I cleaned everything, replaced all the blocks in there, and the flying critters seemed to go away. But this year, when we returned in January -- the blocks in the vehicles were utterly disintegrated -- just a pile of green fluff with seeds in it. Inside, once the house warmed up, things started coming alive, and we had little white icky-looking worms showing up EVERYWHERE! They were absolutely resistant to everything we sprayed on them -- we could NOT kill them, even saturating them with bug spray. Eventually a direct spray of Wasp killer killed the worms. Most of them went down the drain, followed by hot hot water. I hope they don't crawl up out of our septic tank!! The inside blocks were looking much like the blocks in the shop -- some were fairly intact, but some were totally disintegrated, as in just a pile of green fluff and partially-eaten seeds. I had diligently placed the bait blocks EVERYWHERE in the cabin -- inside cupboards, along baseboards, in perimeters of every room & closet, inside drawers -- anywhere a mouse might go. The flying insects were mostly gone -- there were a few but mostly they were dead, laying here and there. And I found lots of little cocoons in tight spots, & that's where the worms came out of. I think they thought it was spring when the house warmed up, and everything came alive! I have spent mucho hours cleaning everything, washing everything, vacuuming everything -- trying to get everything cleaned up. The blocks are all sitting outside where it's cold -- just to get them out of the house. I think they'd probably still be effective if I just distributed them outside on the ground a distance from the house -- but I'm not really sure that's prudent. Those worms can really travel -- and I don't know what their next stage is . . . Long story to say those 2 buckets turned out to be a disaster! You will notice a smaller, waxier bait block. Those are a different type, and they are just a year old, but I found areas on them where they were starting to look "eaten", & a few with worms coming out of them also!!! Hopefully I retrieved all the blocks that were inside the cabin. This mess of bait blocks is ALL going to be thrown out where maybe our wild night critters outside will eat them. Once rats have moved into your home or your chicken coop (or whatever) you have very few options to rid yourself of the infestation. The reason for this is that rats are super bright and cautious creatures. They have an excellent sense of smell and are keen observers of any food substance that makes their peers ill or brings about their death. They do not tend to jump on and devour whatever poison du jour you have to offer. Instead, they will wait a few days until your scent has worn off. Then a handful of them (probably the younger ones) will venture forth and take a nibble or two while the rest of the gang sits back and watches. When those adventuresome few soon grow ill followed shortly after by their death? All the other rats will immediately stop eating the poison and from then on, your traps will have become useless. I learned this the hard way having built and operated a chicken coop with thirty some chickens in it for several years. The rats soon moved into the coop, building tunnels and nests beneath the dirt floor. At night, they would emerge and help themselves to whatever grain the chickens had left them. In certain instances, when we would add baby chicks to the coop to try and increase our laying hen population, they would pounce on and devour the baby chicks. Over the years I fought and lost rat wars with those bastards using mechanical traps (all failed) and poison (also failed). The reasons for the failure are mentioned above. Rats as a population are very skeptical of anything new that comes into their environment - like traps. Once a few of their ilk venture forth to investigate and end up paying with their lives, the rest of the population will take heed and steer clear. What that means, in a nutshell, is that whatever method you choose to wipe out a rat infestation you have one shot and one shot only at ridding yourself of the problem - and that is by convincing the entire population to indulge themselves in your poisonous offerings all at once. Kill them all in short order or expect the survivors to learn from their peers mistakes and studiously avoid your traps from then on. Meanwhile, those survivors will go right back to breeding and multiplying and it will only be a matter of time before you're overrun with rats once again. Which brings me to why this JT Eaton 709-PN Bait Block is the way to go. After having a seriously rat infested chicken coop for over thirty years we finally decided we'd had enough of trying to raise our own chickens and got rid of the entire setup. What we didn't get rid of were the rats. Once the coop and their food supply was gone - they migrated a couple hundred yards up the hill and into our home. We discovered this when food items in our pantry were suddenly showing multiple signs of rat gnawing s and depredation. There were also visible signs of live rats running about when the lights were turned on. I ordered JT Eaton 709-PN Bait Block and a dozen traps to hold the poison and set about to go back to war again. Because this time I knew that it was all or nothing. A dozen traps may seem like overkill but, they and this marvelous rat killing bait did the trick. The ENTIRE rat population was wiped out!! This was over a year ago now and we haven't seen hide nor hair of a single rat in our home since! This stuff works!! Just remember - if you want to kill off a rat infestation - you have to kill them ALL AT ONCE (no survivors). So put out plenty of traps filled with this bait place them all around the area of the infestation and you won't be disappointed - we certainly weren't.

SHORT = I put this stuff out on a Tuesday, for 3 straight nights, and it finally killed the rat Monday of the next week. LONG = A rat living in my basement ceiling went CRAZY shortly after I put these bait blocks out in strategic locations. I had never heard it so active. They LOVE this stuff. But here's the issue. The poison in this stuff only kills the rat roughly 2-4 days AFTER the rat has consumed a "fatal" dosage of it. The amount the rat or mouse will need to eat to get the fatal dose will vary based on size + particular genetics of the creature. It can take the rat DAYS to finally consume a fatal dose. That's why this product gets 3 stars. Because you need some luck to make sure it eats the bait for at least 3 days straight. If the rat is getting food from other sources, this may not kill it. BEFORE using this product, you need to try and bait the rat/mouse into a good ole fashioned snap trap. Do research on how to properly bait the trap. You need to secure the bait to the trap using wire/glue/anything. Unfortunately, you will NOT be able to use this bait I am reviewing because it crumbles too easily. You'll never be able to secure it strong enough to the snap trap and the rat will be able to take it without setting off the trap. This bait also takes a long time to kill because the rat needs to eat it for days and AFTER it eats it for days, it will take another few days for it to die. Try to use a snap trap on your rat or mouse and use this as your last resort. Good luck!

It's probably the best stuff out there right now I have bought several buckets different flavors because the rats get used to that flavor and stop eating it, just change flavors time to time and good product recommended kills very well
