Best Purchase I Have Ever Made !!!
The Oreck Orbiter Ultra Multi Purpose Floor Machine is one of the best purchases I have ever made and I wish I had gotten one years ago. Being a typical homeowner.. I have several different types of flooring in my home. Vinyl / linoleum which needs to be stripped and rewaxed and shined and washed on a regular basis. Carpet which always needs to be cleaned. Tile Laminate Flooring. Getting on hands and knees to scrub and clean all these floors is a tremendous waste of time and energy, not to mention sore knees and elbows. The Oreck Floor Machine makes cleaning floors enjoyable. I started with a linoleum floor... stripped it using Armstong New Start... Applied new wax and buffed it to perfection. A yellowed floor looks almost new again.... All this in less than an hour !!! Next I cleaned a few carpets. Again the Oreck proved its worth, by making this an easy task to do and the carpets came out looking cleaner than anything I've been able to do with a steam cleaner. Then I turned to the laminate flooring. Cleaned and polished and buffed 3 floors in less than two hours. Floor maintenance is now a breeze using this machine... It's easy to use, comes with a variety of attachments for every purpose, does a great job and is easy to store when not in use. The Ultra comes with an extra long cord (good option) and is more powerful yet very quiet and easy to handle.. 10 year warranty... annual checkups and will tackle any job INCLUDING basement floors and garage floors and tile grout. Don't let the price fool you... this machine is worth every penny and will save you plenty of time and energy !!!

A must have fabulous floor care machine
I couldn't wait for this machine to arrive. it out performed my expectations. I did my research, the reviews were very helpful and right on. I married into miles of dirty, unsealed grout and have spent many hours on my hands and knees. I purchased a steam cleaner, but it didn't get me off my knees. I called a cleaning company that uses a tile cleaning machine and when he wanted me to send pictures and square footage because coming out would cost him too much to give me an estimate, I looked again for a machine to clean tile. For a fraction of the cost of one cleaning by a cleaning company, I purchased the machine and all the cleaning products needed for the whole house tile, hardwood, carpeting. I used the Machine this morning to clean a strip of grungy tile grout. It was so easy. I mixed the tile cleaner with hot water in a spray bottle sprayed the grout lines, let it set for three minutes, and turned the machine on. Grunge flew out of the grout lines. It was disgusting and amazing all at the same time. I let the edge of the orange brush follow the grout lines and the machine just followed along easily. The machine is heavy while carrying it, but it can be moved around the floor while running With two fingers. This is a Godsend for me. Update: I've had this machine for a few months now and am more amazed than ever. We purchased a foreclosure houe that had things I cannot even describe on the carpets. First thought was to rip out and replace but the carpets where not worn in any way and looked fairly new. There was no deep down odor just a sticky strewn around mess as if molasses was thrown around the house. I was unsure how to proceed but took out the floor machine tried the carpet dry cleaning powder and most came out. As I Had nothing to loose, I mixed up som warm oxy clean solution, sprayed an area, waited a few minutes and took the machine back over it with the brush and then the bonnet and, voile, the carpet was clean. No regrets with purchasing this machine!

Yes, it can be used to CLEAN wood floors, too.
I searched for hours and hours for a solution for CLEANING my wood floors - not waxing them and not refinishing them, but simply cleaning them. I tried a steam mop first, but was immediately worried I might damage the wood by either stripping the surface or warping it. And regular mops require strength, endurance and willpower to yield results. I'm not looking for a P90X-style workout. I just want my floors clean! I decided to try the Oreck and am amazed with the results. The tricky part is choosing the right pad. The Oreck comes with a white buffer pad that's useless for cleaning as it's very porous and non-absorbent. I ordered one of the Oreck carpet bonnets, but no go there either. The bonnets are also not absorbent. But alas, I "MacGyver-ed" the perfect solution. I picked up a bag of square microfiber dusting rags from Home Depot. They're thin. I just place one of the cloths onto the floor-facing side of the white polishing pad. The fibers lock together quickly, like Velcro, and now my Oreck has a microfiber pad. I spray a tiny amount of wood floor cleaner on the floor and go to work. And the Oreck works like it was designed for no other purpose than wood floor cleaning. When one of the microfiber cloths gets dirty, I peel it off the white polishing pad and attach a new one. On dirty floors, I'll go through a bunch of the microfiber rags, then just toss them in the washing machine. Easy peasy. And the microfiber rags are cheap. Used in this manner, the Oreck is an absolute wonder, easily lifting dirt and spills, leaving a spotless wood floor behind. I need remarkably little spray to get the job done, too. Much faster, MUCH better results and ultimately much easier than mopping, this is the wood floor cleaning solution I've been looking for. I highly recommend it. The Oreck is a serious little beast.

Love the Orbiter!
Let me warn you: You may experience an overwhelming amount of joy from seeing the results of this product. If you're like me, you've tried everything to keep the grout between your tile clean...you know, wanting your grout to match all the way to the corners of the room. There's nothing like walking into a bathroom and seeing slightly darker grout all over, except for the outer edge of the bathroomโwhere no one has walkedโand knowing that lighter colored grout is what your entire bathroom should look like... No matter how much I mopped, scrubbed, bleached, and disinfected, it was darker. That is, until the Orbiter came into my life. Cue the music (it's a love story). The Orbiter is a heavy little machine. I am a smaller woman and I had to use some muscle to carry into the different bathrooms. However, once you start it, it glides across the floor like it is on an ice rink. The simplest touch sends it in one directionโmaking it kind of fun to whirl around the rooms. I used the tile cleaner that came with the floor kit. Honestly, I am not exactly sure what kind of stone we have in the house, but I took my chance and used the heavy-duty orange brush. (It may have been that I was angry about all the previous, wasted scrubbing...so I wanted to use the most force as possible!) Within minutes, the Orbiter showed the grout who was boss. My bathrooms looked like a showroom. Any time I use it, I am equally impressed. It's a breeze to use and it quickly cleans the floors. The Orbiter saves me time, frustration, and keeps my floors looking great!

Removes acrylic junk (Mop n Glo) from wood floors and is easy to use the Oreck.
The first one I received did not have a manual, had missing styrofoam packaging, the box was wrapped multiple times in clear tape, and was obviously used and returned. It had white spots (soap residue) onnthe cord and the undersidemof the unit. I sent it back since I had purchased a "new" machine. I didn't know how long someone had used the machine or they mistreated it in some way. The 2nd machine I ordered had the packaging and manual in the box, but the rubber handle was scratched up. I am assuming it was new though. What is wrong with people that they would use a product to clean their carpet or floor, then return it. The Ultra Orbiter (ORB700MB) has a 10 year warranty so I registered it immediately. One reviewer said the warranty was not good if purchased at Amazon, but they didn't ask me where I bought it when I registered online. We'll see. The other Oreck Orbiters have shorter cords and less warranty. ALL PADS AND BRUSHES ARE EXTRA!!! Oreck doesn't know what kind of surface you are using it on so you must order the pads and brushes you need. It DOES come with the part that the pads attach to. All pads and brushes fit all models. It is easy to use once the black piece is on. That part is a little hard to put on. If that part and the pad is not on straight, the Oreck will wobble like crazy. Stop the machine and push it on better and center the pad. This Oreck has sanding screens you can purchase to sand wood floors, but I think it would only be for a small section of wood. An entire room probably needs a huge orbiting sander and an edge sander you can rent at a home improvement store. Different colors of pads and brushes are for different floor surfaces. Research carefully so you don't ruin your floor. In general, when the pad gets darker in color, it means it is more abrasive. White pad is the least abrasive (besides the cotton bonnet) and brown is the most abrasive. Brown is used with the sanding screens on wood. The beige pad is used for marble. Some brushes and pads are used for concrete so they would destroy any other floor. Do your own research! You can use a bonnet on some carpets and a carpet brush on other carpets. Depends if the carpet is low pile, Berber, and a higher pile. Dry carpet shampoo and a pre-treat spray are used for carpet. I bought the Oreck to remove that awful plastic/acrylic crap ..... Mop N Glow, Orange Glo, or any other product that says it adds shine to restore your floors...that the previous homeowners had put on the wood and marble floors. Eventually, that stuff has to be removed and scrubbed off with ammonia. Not fun! Even the Oreck could not get that junk off the marble floor. Marble is delicate and using ammonia, vinegar, peroxide, or acetone will damage the marble. I had to scrape the acrylic off with a razor blade scraper. However, the Oreck did remove the Mop n Glo off the wood floor very easily so that saved me a lot of scrubbing and scraping on my knees. Be careful though, because you can also remove the polyurethane by accident. Laminate floors are not the same as wood floors so do your research. I have not used it for cleaning carpet yet.

Performed well for my concrete floors
For 20 years I have done an annual maintenance on stained/solvent based wax concrete floors, but wanted another scrubber/waxer that was NOT so heavy and difficult to maneuver. I was reluctant to believe anything without a 100# weight could do what I needed done. This machine did the job. It has a 10 year warranty, where as the "commercial unit" does not. In doing research, this unit is manufactured using a metal primary housing (others don't). I can carry this unit (my previous one got too heavy for me). I found research led me to so many questions, but in the end I ordered the black brush for soft scrubbing and the white polishing pad (these are spot welded fiber pads similar to the scotch pad material but will not abrade a surface like some of them (color is a reflection of it's abrasiveness). Normally my process of maintenance involves scrubbing and light reapplication of a solvent wax (using bassine and tampico brushes). I found this piece of equipment and this new process to be much easier and give me the results I wanted. I even had better accessibility around bathroom fixtures because the unit was 12" in diameter instead of the 13" MyTee used in prior years...therefore allowing me to get a "shine" in a small half bath that hadn't happened before. I am very pleased. Solvent waxes require a "burn in"...after 20 years I was able to use a very small amount that appeared to reactivate my existing wax and buff up nicely...without stripping anything. I can now pull out this unit and use it by myself, without having to enlist "help" getting it to the desired location.

my floors have never looked cleaner
We keep a very clean house-even with two rescue dogs and two rescue cats, AND lots of company. I mop my wooden floors weekly...and I thought they looked great. But when we finished the downstairs with the Oreck Orbiter, I knew what a weak cleaner upper I was. My floors looked like new, smelled deliciously clean, and impressed the heck out of my family. I will NEVER clean my floors with any other appliance. When your job is complete, simply toss all the Oreck pads into the washer....SO EASY AND QUICK. Wish I had bought an Oreck Orbiter long ago.

Just buy it!
This floor scrubber is amazing! I used Zep Grout Cleaner and Brightener (yellow bottle) from the orange big box home store. Squirt the cleaner liberally on your grout lines. It immediately starts foaming, let it sit there and work for five minutes or so. I used the Orange brush on the scrubber and just guide it along. The scrubber does the work, no need to bear down or fight it as it is heavy enough to do the job. Be prepared to wipe your baseboards afterwards as the scrubber will fling dirty solution onto them. After scrubbing immediately follow up with a wet Swiffer. I then laid down a dry terry cloth rag (old towels cut to size) and placed the scrubber on top of the rag. Turn the scrubber on and the brush grabs the rag and dries the floor as it spins the rag. Change the rag as needed for a clean one. No more getting on your hands and knees to dry the floor! Stand back afterwards and have a Holy Cow moment : )

Wow!
Omg. Even if I got hosed on the price compared to Amazon.com, this lil thing paid for itself after one $1500.00 Job. I use this machine for floor buffing and spray buffing as well as corners and along walls when refinishing floors. I have also used this machine for hard to reach bonnet cleaning and is amazing for scrubbing tiled floors and hard to reach places in general.

Great machine!
I also like this machine, but the only issue is getting my pad to stay in place. Does anyone else have this issue with the scrubbing pads. Thanks
