Gasp!

Quick to arrive and in new condition...this is a very fun book for children to read. There are so many things to amuse a reader...the silly artwork, the fact that the character is yelling at the reader to STOP READING several times in the book, the page numbers go backwards, the print is in many different fonts and sizes of print so kids can see books CAN be different. Also, this is a great book in which children can read with exaggerated expression! FUN FUN FUN! Terry Denton is a genius!

one of my fav books to read to the kiddos!

My first grader brought this story home and had us both in stitches as we read it aloud together. A fish gets out of his bowl (crash!) and tries to find water in various places in his house. He "talks" to the reader, telling the kids not to turn the page because that will make him die sooner... But, "don't worry Mom," my son confided, "he finds water in the end." What a gift from Terry Denton! A true example of making reading fun... Kids LOVE to read this book! Parents LOVE to see their kids having so much fun reading!

Recently I had the pleasure of hearing this book read aloud at an educator's conference on quality writing. The book had us in stitches as we giggled and "gasped" as the "Fish out of water" fought melodramatically for survival. Original and creative, this is a must have for my classroom library!

Creative, funny, original. The kids loved it. One of my favorites for reading to my first and second grade class.
