Instapure R2 ESSENTIALS (R2, R2C, F2R-4ES, TAP-ESS-REPL-4) Replacement Water Filter (Four pack).

These are a lot less expensive than the Brita filters we used to use (and the hardware you attach to the faucet doesn't break like our Brita's did). The results are great, the water tastes good. Just be sure to follow the instructions to run the water for 3 minutes initially and then 3 seconds every time you turn it on. The initial 3 minutes is to clear our extra carbon (you'll see the black water coming out). The three seconds is (I think) to clear out the water that has been sitting in the plastic housing holding the filter. It can taste a bit like plastic if you don't do this.

We bought the water filter on the kitchen sink spigot many years ago and had run out of filters that came with it. About to throw it away, I found these available on Amazon and they are a perfect fit! Thank you.

...and I've been buying these wherever I can find them for the last 10 years. They are affordable and do what they claim. For me, they tend to last a lot longer for me than the 3 months on the directions; my current record is just short of 7 months. I know because I write the date I put it in on the filter itself (as previously stated in one of the other reviews). I use them until the water I drink starts to taste like the regular tap water. Not scientific, I know, but it's a decent enough indicator for me. To me, it tastes just as good as any Brita or Pur filter out there.

This really take the bad flavor out of the water and makes it tase almost like spring water. I used to use it when I lived in the woods and had well water. It also take out the dirt that came out of the well water. Awesome filter.

My family used to drink water straight from our kitchen faucet when we were living in Boston, MA. However, we moved to another state in the summer and observed that the kitchen water had some egg-like odor to it. The water is also very hard. I initially ordered the Culligan FM-15A Level 3 Faucet Filter, which seemed to be working very fine, but the stream was so poor it would literally take about 15 minutes to fill a standard cooking pot (no kidding!) I sent the Culligan filter back to amazon and ordered the Instapure filter. This filter is really effective at eliminating the bad odor of the water. I didn't expect so much effect on the texture of the water though, since the best treatment for hard water is to get a water softener. The water is also much cleaner. Now, my family can drink our kitchen water again and we've stopped wasting money on bottled water. Water stream is also very good (of course, it's not as fast as the stream directly from the faucet). Also, each one of the four replacement filter conveniently lasts for 3 months before I change it (a family of three). It's also cheaper than most of the other brands in the market and seems pretty sturdy too. Overall, great water filter and relatively cheaper too.

Price was reasonable, and merchandise arrived in good condition.

After research went with Water Pic now Insta Pure Fauscset system. Easy Filter Change 9Not climbing under the sink with wrenches, then worring about leaks. Insta Pure Water Tastes much better. A HINT LET THE WATER RUN SLOWLY THROUGH THE FILTER for even better coffee, its a pain waiting, but well worth it.

Exactly as described and fits the Instapure (formerly known as Teledyne Water pik) kitchen faucet filter that I've used daily for the past 14 years. Just follow the manufacturer's instructions and discard the first couple gallons of water you first after changing the filter as the water will initially come out black, then grey before it runs clear as the loose carbon dust is washed out of the filter. (I wait until the water starts to run clear and then fill a jug and use that water for my garden plants rather than just letting it run down the drain).
