Would it hold a very large (3ftx4ft) magnet on a vehicle that isn’t metal?

as long as you cut multiple strips, and long enough strips, I don't see why not. But remember,  it is tape, and the adhesive is strong and may damage paint on car.

Question 2

I want to adhere this to a large panel on the side of our built in fridge am i making a mistake? if i ever want to remove it i don’t want it to ruin

Accepted Answer

Use Goo Gone. Give it time. I keep an empty aluminum disposable pan under my sink to remove most labels. Isopropyl alcohol is for the bits remaining. You’ll need to keep reapplying the Goo Gone on a vertical surface.

I swear- why don’t people know about Goo Gone? Isopropyl alcohol doesn’t work.

How easy to remove the tape?  Any residue on the wall?

I have to disagree with the other answers — I just removed strips of this from two different surfaces (varnished wood and painted drywall) and removing the residue wasn’t trivial.

The tape itself is sharp, so you ideally want a metal paint scraper to get it started. Once started, the actual peeling is easy because the tape is metal and can’t be ripped. The backing has an intermediate foam layer though that disintegrates when you peel it off. The residue from this is very strong — I couldn’t get it off cleanly by hand with either 70% isopropyl alcohol or with Goof Off spray. I eventually had to get out my power drill with a nylon brush attachment. Even then it left a faint outline of the glue residue on both surfaces.

How strongly will a magnet stick to this?

I used it a craft carnival for magnet display. It worked perfectly. I'm not sure what you need it for, but is the best magnetic "tape, sheet" out there. I also use Neodymium magnets, which are strong also.
