GM Transitioned to Fixed Orifice PCV Systems in LS Engines Around 1999, Initially in Trucks.
Fit in my '03 LQ4. No issues so far and not much to go wrong without an actual valve. General Motors began implementing a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system utilizing a fixed orifice, rather than a traditional spring-operated valve, in its LS-based truck engines as early as the 1999 model year. This design was later adopted for passenger car LS engines, notably as a solution to address oil consumption issues in early LS1 engines.

It’s just a shell but that’s how OEM is
Upgraded review due to me being misinformed, this PCV valve especially for some years of Chevrolet/GM do not have a physical valve inside. So it technically is the correct part. If looking for one with a valve inside you’ll want to check out the 2001 Tahoe 5.3.
