Headphone Plug Extraction Tool- Remove Broken Headphone Plug from Headphone Jack of Mobile Devices

Used one to save my mom's iPad. The tools don't feel too durable. However, each extractor is good for a removal or so. Even one successful removal is worth the cost of the order though. They're pretty easy to use, but I'd advise using pliers or needle nose for better functionality and use. Definitely worth it.

My earphone jack broke off in my iPad. We tried everything to get it out before ordering these. We went through 4 or 5 of them before we got it out, but it worked!! What a lifesaver!

This set of tools did not work for my case. My headphone jack broke off in my Kindle Fire 8 HD. I have not been able to remove the broken part yet.

We had a piece of a headphone jack in the fire tablet and this thing worked like a charm! We gently put it in and tapped it down and pulled out and the prong came flying out! Worked great!

While it did do the job to pull many plugs out, it failed for some as well. I felt like it’s already holding the plug but it couldn’t pull out. The tool is very sharp so be very careful when using it.

I bought these in hope of removing a headphone jack that had broken and was stuck inside my son’s iPad. Of course I tried everything I had on hand first. Hot glue failed, tweezers failed, super glue on a stick failed. When these little slivers of metal arrived I have to admit I wasn’t impressed. But I figured what do o gave to lose? A light little tappy tap of my trusty little junk drawer hammer and a slow steady pull and boom! The darn thing worked!!! The iPad was saved and my son no longer has to carry around a ridiculous obnoxious Bluetooth speaker everywhere he goes. Totally worth the $7!

I work as a computer technician. The company I work for has a LOT of iPads used primarily by children. We get a lot of broken headphone plugs stuck in headphone jacks. A lot. So I have tried several tools to help remove them. This has been my favorite. It is basically a thin metal tube with a slot cut down the length of it, so it can get slightly wider or thinner. You tap this into the headphone jack, around the broken piece if headphone plug. Then you squeeze it tight and gently pull it, and the piece of headphone plug, back out. It can take a few tries but, if you are persistent and patient it works. For me, about 95 percent of the time. Sometimes the plug comes out in a few pieces. Like I said, the metal is thin. It has to be, in order to fit between the plug and the outside of the jack. So after a few uses the tool starts to deform or bend here and there. Eventually, you just have to use a new one. But there are several in the kit, so that really isn't a problem unless you have, like, a LOT of broken headphones in a LOT of headphone jacks. Works just as well on other devices with the 3.5mm jack. Buy one, or a bunch. They are worth it. Oh, it also comes with a little brush to use after the tool, to clean out any debris that might be left behind in case it is something other than a headphone plug that is jammed in there. Like, say, a pencil lead. If THAT is what your little angel has managed to do, this might not be the best tool for the job. Try a pin vise drill for that. Ooh, I sense another product review coming....

The tool worked but, the material is too soft to retain the required pressure to pull the broken plugs in the headphone jack. On my end to make it work it was required to put a small twist to create the missing pressure since the toll will expand failing to contract against the plug. In other words, the spring effect is totally missing. This is understandable since the space left on between the plug and the jack's wall if thousandth of an inch wide. Still the tool needs to be of better quality. For those coming around for this tool, keep in mind that this are electronic level tools. Hammering and banging with heavy objects like other mentioned in their post, will effectively damage the tool. Consider tapping the tool gently until it wraps around the plug. Some experience as a electronic tech or at lease the basics of it is needed in order to determine when the tool has reached the bottom of the jack. Trying to pass this point it will bend the tool. Also understanding how the tool works goes a long way to make it work. Going all haywire on the tool will not help at all.

Plesdantly surprised how good these are. I was quoted £50 to repair my speakers aux in port. Ordered these last night, opener the package today and within the space of two mimutes, i managed to remove the offending piece of a 3.5mm plug. Just insert tool into socket, tap with little force, then remove the tool with pliers. Excellent little tool!

Während unseres letzten Urlaubs ist mir ein kleines, aber ärgerliches Missgeschick passiert: Wir wollten im Flugzeug unserem Sohn über das Tablet einen Film anmachen, damit er entspannt schauen kann, ohne andere Mitreisende zu stören. Ich habe schnell seine Kopfhörer angeschlossen – oder besser gesagt, versucht, sie anzuschließen. Beim Einstecken ist der 3,5mm-Klinkenstecker abgebrochen und steckte tief in der Buchse fest. Die Folge: Keine Soundausgabe mehr, das Tablet erkannte nur noch den Kopfhörer – ausgerechnet mitten auf einem langen Flug. Zurück zu Hause habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Lösung gemacht, um nicht gleich teure Reparaturkosten zahlen zu müssen. Dabei bin ich auf dieses Extraktionswerkzeug gestoßen – und es hat meine Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Die Handhabung erfordert zwar ein gewisses Maß an Vorsicht und etwas Fingerspitzengefühl, aber wenn man keine zwei linken Hände hat, ist es absolut machbar. Wichtig ist, das kleine Werkzeug mit leichten, kontrollierten Klopfbewegungen in die Buchse zu treiben, sodass es über das Bruchstück des Steckers „springt“ und sich festhakt. Danach kann man das Ganze vorsichtig herausziehen – und siehe da: Der abgebrochene Teil kam sauber mit heraus. Besonders positiv finde ich, dass das Werkzeug sehr präzise gearbeitet ist und auch in engen Buchsen gut funktioniert. Es erfordert zwar ein wenig Geduld, aber mit Ruhe und der richtigen Technik kann man sich so eine teure Reparatur oder gar den Austausch des gesamten Geräts sparen. Mein Fazit: Wer in einer ähnlichen Situation steckt, sollte dieses Werkzeug unbedingt in Betracht ziehen – aber nur, wenn man sich das handwerklich auch zutraut. Eine falsche Anwendung könnte die Buchse beschädigen. Für alle mit etwas Geschick in den Fingern ist es aber ein echter Lebensretter für ein ansonsten sehr ärgerliches Problem.
