Amazing midweek alternative to alcohol
We’ve all been there. The alarm clock goes and you repeatedly hit snooze until you can muster the energy to pull yourself out of bed. It wasn’t even a late one. Just a few beers after work, but by the ripe old age of 27 things are already starting to creep up on you. I stumbled across this though and was genuinely blown away. Firstly, it tastes incredible. Arguably even better than an actual aperol when served with tonic, and why not, throw a slice of orange in too for additional flare. You’ll have a professional cocktail grade drinks in your hands in under 20 seconds, saved a fortune on beers as it’s in fact incredibly good value, and no midweek hangover. Result! I’ll definitely be stocking up for Christmas! Amazing purchase!

If you like Aperol and/or Campari then you will like this.
After trying a few non alcoholic mixer type drinks, I was extremely pleased to have found one which was totally delicious. I bought the Blood Orange variety as my favourite drinks are an Aperol spritz and Campari & soda. I can’t believe how near the taste is to the real full alcoholic versions. I don’t drink alcohol due to health reasons and really miss my cocktails. I like a ‘beer’ or two with meals, but there’s nothing like relaxing in the sun with a cool cocktail in your hand. I mixed it with soda water and a squeeze and slice of orange. I also mixed it with non alcoholic Prosecco for a more complex tasting spritz. I can’t wait for it to come back into stock, I shall be putting in another order, as I am rapidly running out and the warmer weather is looming fast.

INACCURATE INGREDIENTS
I bought this product specifically because it said it doesn't contain artificial preservatives - in the product description, the ingredients list 'Natural Preservatives: Mushroom Glycopids'. However, the product that arrived has 'Potassium Sorbate' and 'Sodium Benzoate' on the label's ingredients list. It otherwise looks like a genuine product, so I wonder if this is older stock from before the product ingredients were updated (the Abstinence website lists only natural preservatives). Can't comment on the taste or anything else as I haven't tried it yet, but this was frustrating considering I was looking for a more healthy option.

Hmmmm not overly exciting. Just a very expensive squash to me
Why is it alcohol-free versions of the alcoholic brands are just as expensive, if not, in some cases more expensive 🤷♀️ This was no exception. It was expensive I thought at £12.79 for what it was. Yeah, it was pleasant enough, quite sharp and tangy in flavour but nice and refreshing. It did set off my heartburn too as it’s quite acidic. Blood orange is a nice flavour though. I preferred this with lemonade to sweeten it up a bit and take the tartness from it. Was it anything special? No not really. I’m not a big alcohol drinker so am experimenting with non-alcoholic versions of things as this market is definitely improving in tastes and availability. Yes I like the odd gin and tonic, Baileys or Sheridan’s, but generally I can take it or leave it. I’m a big fan of squash though….and my opinion is that squash and their tastes and flavours available now are amazing. Something for everyone. For me, this is a glorified over-priced squash quite honestly. Basic cheap squash is nice and I love pink grapefruit, summer fruits, and apple and blackcurrant etc, but then there are slightly more exotic expensive squashes such as my favourite Robinsons Real Fruit Crushed Lime and Mint cordial which tastes just like a mojito, and in my opinion….. is a nicer non-alcoholic drink than this Abstinence…and way way way way cheaper. most squashes have a sugar-free version too, which this Abstinence isn't. £12.79 for basically a posh squash is daylight robbery. I won’t be buying this again, it’s nowt special and the alcoholic version probably better value. If spending this sort of money on a non-alcoholic version of something then the traditional green bottled Non-alcoholic Gordon’s Gin beats this hands down, and they’re in the same price brackets. The gin one is less squash-like and more like real gin. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. Just my personal opinion obviously ☺️

Good Campari/Aperol substitute
Great alcohol-free Campari/Aperol substitute. Makes a lovely long aperitif with slimline grapefruit tonic water: excellent substitute for the real thing if you’re watching sugar/calorie/alcohol intake but need a drink after a long day!

An aquired taste
Normally like this kind of drink but with this one you'll either love it or hate it

Tastes Delicious with Soda Water
I was after a non-alcoholic substitute for Campari and this is exactly what I wanted. It still has that bitterness and sweetness and goes very well with soda water. This is now my favourite soft drink! Will be buying a lot more of this.

Non-alcoholic bitters perfection
If you like an aperol spritz but you don't want the alcohol, this is the product for you. It's got just the right taste, finally i can make a mocktail where i don't miss the alcohol.

I love this stuff and have now done a subscribe & save order. Since I quit drinking alcohol, I have been trying to find a non-alcohol version of an Apperol spritz that actually tastes good and the vast majority of mocktail versions out there just don’t compare to the alcohol version. The Abstinence blood orange aperitif is absolutely perfect. It has just the right amount of sweet and bitter that traditional Aperol offers. I personally like to mix it with Fresca or a citrus soda and a fresh orange wedge delicious! You don’t need to add very much. If you overdo the mix, it will be too bitter.

Compared to other non-alcoholic aperitifs, this has a great citrus and bitter taste that fills your graving for a virgin-NA Sprits. Pair this with a bit of lemon, club soda, and NA Champagne and you got yourself a pretty great sipper for warm weather, even when you don't want to "drink" alcohol

Makes for a great Negroni!

This is the 6th bitter orange NA spirit that I've tried. What this listing doesn't reveal is that this product derives much of its bitterness from quinine, not just distilled botanicals which is something that i didn't care for. I feel like the quinine overwhelms the spirit. I do give this product higher marks due to using better ingredients than other products like this. Using black carrot for coloring instead of artificial dyes. If you love tonic water, then definitely try this product. If you want bitterness without quinine, then I'd pass on this.
