How deep is it when folded? / how far does it set off the wall when folded?

When folded up to the wall this bench will stand out 5" from the wall.

How tall is the rack folded up?

This listing is for the bench only. When folded up the bench is 61" tall.

Is it possible to use the bench on its own in flat use only, without a squat rack? If so, is there a pad for my head?

The bench attaches to the wall and can be folded flat against the wall. Yes, you can use the bench by itself without a rack. We bought our set in separate pieces to separate the cost of the total gym. The bench was one of he first things we got. While there isn’t a pad for your head specifically, the entire bench is padded.
