This product comes unassembled, requires a Philips screwdriver and takes a few short minutes to set up. I would recommend practicing setting it in place before a cook instead of trying to place it while the grill is hot. Once it is in place, it creates a fantastic cooking surface that is closer to the dome of your grill and provides room to cook another item inside a 9 x 13 pan below on the original grill grates. I cooked a spatchcock chicken on the grill extender and some potatoes in a pan below. Both were excellent and the potatoes were able to absorb those delicious juices from the chicken above.

With this nifty accessory, I was able to smoke two large pork bellies when making bacon on my classic Weber 22" kettle. It attached easily and the hinge allows easy access to the original grill surface.

I purchased this grate mainly for cooking ribs on my large BGE. Easy to assemble with a Philips head screwdriver. It just about doubles the cooking space in my large egg, and I should be able to cook 3 racks or ribs laying flat. I like the idea that the grate flips to get access to the lower grate and the grate is study enough to hold ribs, chicken, etc. I only gave it 4 stars because it would be nice if it was a bit higher off the main grate, and a concern I have that several of the welds may not hold up long term. It's a great value and would purchase again.

Allows me to add a great deal more chicken thighs, wings, legs, etc to my Akorn. I now have enough space to cook chicken wings for my family of eight.
