AmLactin Intensive Healing Cream

Recommended by my dermatologist for dry skin. It works fine --- the skin on my legs is softer and smoother than it's ever been. But-and the first 1/4-1/2" of cream smelled like ammonia. Now I've gotten further down in the jar, the smell has gone away. Yay!!

This moisturizer is amazing. The past few years I've been noticing the skin on my forearms is changing. Becoming thinner, dryer, flaky and itchy. Since I've started using this my skin is much more supple and resilient, its soft and doesn't look as thin anymore. Its like my forearms are 10 years younger! Although this moisturizer does have an unintentional scent, its not horrible. Its kind of a flat, chemical smell, almost like old almonds or something. And the scent does fade quickly, in 20 minutes the scent is gone. Totally worth it for these results!

I love this cream! It is great for dry skin and rough feet. It feels luxurious without suffocating me. It’s thick but goes on like water. Very nice feel.

I have winter skin an an apartment that is always too hot. So my skin can get dry. I knew about the Amlactin brand but never considered this as an option for my body. I typically use body oil and on occasion use a body lotion with squalene. With the mention of 15% lactic acid my mind began to wonder as I use a lactic acid on my face. I am currently using a Kojic acid soap on my body and thought this Amlactin cream could definitely speed up my goal of shedding dead skin and lightening dark areas (inner thighs, underarms, elbows, feet) while softening my skin and revealing more radiant skin over time. After the 1st application, I could tell this product has great potential to help me reach my skin goals. My skin was quenched, and softened. There is a slight scent due to the lactic acid but that dissipates after drying down... my feet feel soft but the heels need alil more tlc (lol)! This is something I would apply overnight allowing it tike to do its job. And applying a lighter lotion in the AM or a dry oil. This is more like a balm and would definitely make you sweat if you were running errands or doing housework. I definitely recommend for women with drier mature skin who have similar goals to lighter dark areas/ patches. 👍🏼

My dermatologist had recommended this. If you have dry, flaky skin you should use this. This works better than any other product I’ve ever used. No, there’s no pleasing scent or choice of scents. And that’s okay because the trade off is soft skin that lasts a few days. And it’s naturally exfoliating so those annoying bumps on your elbows will go away! It takes a week or so for bumps to go away and it works great on feet. I recommend putting it on at night with some socks, and you will see a difference in the morning. The product is very thick so you don’t need to use a lot of it at one time, and it feels nice like a body butter.

I suffer with hyperpigmentation. I just started using this, and it has impressed me. I had to give myself a break because my skin started itching after daily use, twice a day. I just used a moisturizing lotion and vaseline for the next week. Started back again. I'm on my third week of using this and it has improved the areas of discoloration. I will probably pick up another jar, when I'm out because its almost empty. Its very moisturizing, and you will see a difference in your skin within a week of use.

As many people have commented the smell is not the best. It’s not too offensive once the product is absorbed unto the skin but it has an undertone of ammonia and slightly expired milk. If you put a scented lotion on top of it though it’s easy to mask the smell. This product however leaves my skin BABY SOFT!!!!! It’s helped a lot with my KP, hyperpigmentation, and skin texture issues as well. It doesn’t give as drastic results of as something like a glycolic acid lotion but you can use it almost everyday without worrying as much about irritation. If you can get past the smell this product is absolutely worth your money! I just wouldn’t wear this with the assumption that you’re going to swoon people with the way you smell after putting it on.

I like this product, it's really a 4 star product. I like the tubs because you can get to the bottom and get it all out. BUT, I also really really hate that the container has a fake recycle symbol (no number) with "Reduce Reuse Recycle". Greenwashing. You can't recycle it. I called them--and they had no clue at all. Customer service went off and came back and said yes it's recyclable--as if that meant anything. Dropping it in recycling just means making more work for them to sort it to trash. I asked them to either remove the greenwash labeling or put the correct # in the triangle--she said she'd make a note. So it's only getting three stars from me, and I'm going to switch products.
