cost effective solution
It worked good for me and probably will for you. I purchased this particular brand and product because it was the lowest price offering for frosted glass spray paint. Amazon was also the lowest price by quite a large margin compared to local big box stores on this item. This Rust-Oleum frosted glass spray paint covered well and resulted in a pretty good uniform coverage of my glass windows. You can no longer see through them yet a very good amount of light still comes through. I only covered the inside of the windows. I figure that the outside would be more likely to get scratches or some other damage to the paint as time goes on and only one side needs to be coated in order to get the desired effect. This paint smells very much of chemical like acetone or finger nail polish remover if you are familiar with those. Maybe its toluene. Its a very potent smell and very flammable also so have plenty of open ventilation like a couple of large open windows or doors - to the outside of the building, not just into other rooms. I had two doors to the room open to the outside and a pedestal fan going to suck the fumes out and it smelled very strongly of the odor for half an hour or so after I finished spraying. The odor was so strong that I held my breath while spraying and then ran out and caught my breath and then went back in and sprayed another pane until I was done. I did 2 coats on each pane of glass to ensure even coverage at the edges. I did one window and have 3/4 or more of the can left. Result: now people on the street can't look through my side porch windows all the way through and beyond. I like it.

Provides Protection
Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray paint worked very well to provide the frosting look I wanted on an otherwise clear plastic container. I applied one coat and let it dry about 15 minutes then applied another coat and my project turned out just the way I envisioned it. It's best to wear a mask because the paint fumes are strong, and spray it on a nonwindy day! Great product for crafting projects.

SO FROSTED IT'S COLD!
Frosted a clear cabinet glass door & it worked perfectly! When you spray it, make sure it is all the way dry before you decide whether it is frosted enough for your liking or not.

Best option for the price
We have a glass front door on our house, and while we have a shade for it, I always found the idea of frosted glass to be desirable. I looked into it and decided that a spray-on solution would be the best for my needs as some of the more "do it yourself" options required a bit of work and could prove to be costly and time-consuming. The Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray had mostly positive reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. Verdict: it's a pretty excellent product! A few notes about the application process: Application is simple, but it requires a bit of patience and a consistent spray. Follow the guidelines on the canister and keep the nozzle about 10 inches or so away from the glass, using steady, sweeping sprays. I found that I didn't need to mask the wood around the glass as it just sort of "dusts off" from the surface of the wood, but I suspect that any smooth surfaces are worth masking (metal, plastic, finished wood). Another thing that is worth noting is that you absolutely should have the area well-ventilated and it's good to only do a couple sweeps at a time, letting the area air out a bit between sprays. I went all-out on my first pass and the "dust" from the frosting material got absolutely everywhere. It mops up with no issue, but it will make a mess if you blast the window for an extended period of time. Second, it's good to let it dry and make a few additional passes. My first pass seemed good, but once it dried I did notice a few inconsistent spots where the frosting wasn't quite as dense. Allowing a few minutes of drying and a few additional coats will ensure that the glass gets evenly frosted. I also decided to do a couple of vertical sweeps after the horizontal ones to break up any linearity in the spray. It worked really well. I also hand-cut a mask with Frogtape and plastic to include an artistic feature/view hole and it came out fantastic! All in all I highly recommend this product and have been very happy with the results!

Better than expected results...
It took over two years for me to finally get around to making the laundry room window private. My landlord wanted me to use cheap plastic crap that required measurements, cutting, and just a mess I was clearly procrastinating over. I really didn't like the way our bathroom window looked with the plastic, all bubbled up and cheap looking. I was perusing on Amazon, and happened upon this product. I admit, I was a bit skeptical, but, aside from the prepping with the painter's tape and the plastic with it's own tape (another interesting review I've made,) the end result made me so happy, 3 weeks later, I ripped off the plastic garbage in the bathroom, and frosted that window, as well. One thing to know, it's recommended to do multiple coatings, about every 10 - 15 minutes. I did a total of 6 coats, I love the end result. Far superior and pretty easy to do. You'll spend more time prepping with the painter's tape and fighting with the plastic and it's own tape, but it cleans up super easy, and you end up with something far more professional looking and aestetically pleasing. Highly recommend!!!

Goes on easy, but does not come off easy.
This stuff does work. It does require several coats to cover the window to limit visibility. My only problem with this product is that it is a bear to remove. I put this on about two years ago. The can says it can be removed with acetone or lacquer thinner. I tried acetone first because it's the least toxic option. All the acetone did was make streaks in the paint. Next I tried the lacquer thinner. Boy oh boy, does this stuff stink! I put the lacquer thinner on a rag and did my best trying to scrub it off, but like the acetone it bearly touched it. After covering the whole window with lacquer thinner. I waited a few minutes. Then took a plastic scraper to it. This is when I finally started to see it come off. I still struggled immensely with the edges. I'm currently taking a break. Then I'll go back and tackle the edges again. I still have a whole other window to do. My advice is, if you plan to use this to cover your windows, please make sure that it is a permanent decision. I am a renter, so I have to take it off before I leave. Also, in the event that you do need to remove it, I would skip the acetone and go straight to the lacquer thinner. Keep in mind that even with the lacquer thinner, you will still need to do some heavy duty scraping. Lastly, and most importantly, make sure you use proper PPE to remove this stuff (gloves, eye protection, and a mask). Please make sure you are working in a well ventilated area if using lacquer thinner. Good luck.

Very Easy and pocket friendly way to frost glass
You have to be at sufficient distance from the glass otherwise excess agent will drip and will leave unwanted mark. Needs a bit practice. Area must be well ventilated as it's smell can choke you. I mean it. Though result is pretty good.

Just 5 out of 5
Each coat dries quickly, reduces glass transparency. The strong smell is also notable. just what I needed
