Would you recommend this for a beginner?

I think it's a great beginners telescope. With the robotic arm and wifi it will auto move to point at objects by way of your smart phone or tablet. The only tricky part is initial alignment but after that it's great!

Is there any problems people experience with the Wi-Fi?

I have had nothing but problems connecting with IOS on an iPhone 12. Connected but the telescope does not respond. Continual issues. When it does connect, it drops. Been trying to fix for days. Seems others on web have same issue. Will be giving this a one star.

I know it's wireless but is there a hard wire port?

Yes, there is a port where you can plug in an optional hand control.
