Can this be worn over a swimcap for extra protection to prevent water

Yes, Mack's Ear Band can be worn over a swim cap, but please realize that ear bands (despite what some competitors advertise) are not designed to be provide a waterproof barrier.  They are designed to help hold earplugs securely in place and help keep children from removing their earplugs.  If you want to keep water out of your ears, we recommend wearing our Mack's Pillow Soft Moldable Silicone Putty Earplugs, then for added security, if you’d like to add a swim cap and Mack’s Ear Band, that would be a fine move. do these come in different sizes? this seems way too small for my small head

I’m happy to help. Mack’s Ear Band comes in one size and is designed to comfortably fit kids to medium-sized adult heads. It might feel a little snug out of the box, but it is adjustable and I assure you it will loosen up a bit when it gets wet. Thank you for your interest in our products and I'm happy to help. Swimming ear bands are designed to be an added layer of protection by helping hold ear plugs in. Ear bands are not designed to keep water out on their own. To keep water out of the ear canals, Mack's Earplugs should be worn under ear bands.
