These capsules work just as well as everyone says! I have been taking them for about two weeks once daily after dinner, and only had acid reflux a couple times the first two to three days. I had been taking prilosec two tablets twice daily on an empty stomach (a prescription dose) just to survive the previous month or so and by now have almost already weaned completely off. I also drastically cut out NSAIDS and started taking licorice root (Nature's Way) and concentrated aloe vera gel (NOW) to help heal my esophagus and my GI tract, but the D-limonene is what worked first that allowed me to make all these other changes. Except for the first day or two there were no weird "orange burps" even though I still have regular burps they are not orange flavored and not reflux. These things are truly magic and saved my sanity and ability to sleep through the night without tasting or inhaling food and acid. Right now I still have to be a little careful what I eat, but it is improving already. Amazing! Don't be scared by a couple of bad reviews where people didn't swallow the capsule all the wlay - it is a large soft gel but a full glass of water should be sufficient. Pretty much everyone is either helped or cured with the D-limonene is my impression. Highly recommended at least to try - you won't be dissappointed!! I can't emphasize this enough how much this has changed my health and even if you have to keep taking them, they are inexpensive and there are no harmful side effects like there are with antacids! Edit: sometimes I still have an episode of reflux occasionally even on this regimen, and all I do is take one of these an extra time and it solves it - no antacids needed! I plan to take these once daily in the evenings for the foreseeable future - I don't think they are always a cure but break the cycle of the reflux irritating the esophagus and causing more reflux, and I'm still off prilosec! I believe that I have some serious underlying disease process to deal with, which I suspect is intestinal hyperpermeability, also known as "leaky gut", and so my situation may be a little more complex than many. Edit: my experience a couple months in is consistent with what I have written. There are many other interventions I have taken and many other supplements I take directly for my GI issues. I have written longer reviews on Nature's Way Licorice Root (non-DGL), NOW Aloe Vera concentrated gel caps, NOW Slippery Elm, and Jarrow L-glutamine, all of which I am using to help treat my intestinal hyperpermeability, i.e."leaky gut". Licorice, Aloe, Slippery Elm, and Marshmallow root all help treat acid reflux directly, also, as well as helping heal the esophagus and the digestive tract, in case anyone needs more help. I also take Hyperbiotics probiotics, which significantly reduced the reflux all on their own before I knew about the D-limonene. Finally, I take digestive enzymes right after I eat, including broad spectrum enzymes by Dr. Best, and NOW Betaine Hcl which helps resolve GERD by acting to increase stomach acid (same idea as swallowing lemon juice or apple cider vinegar) and especially helps digest high protein meals (reverses all the damage of suppressing it with all those antacids that don't work and just cause more damage and maldigestion and malabsorption - you need stomach acid to properly digest your food! - sounds counterintuitive but Google GERD and low stomach acid and you will get lots of info). Again, my situation is complex and it normally takes many months to heal "leaky gut" so I simply wanted to first of all share the other supplements that have and are helping me, and second tell you not to get discouraged if D-limonene is not a cure-all if you have a more complex situation. MANY folks get complete cure and remission from the D-limonene, and many folks find that it secondarily resolves issues in the rest of the GI tract as well, such as IBS, by breaking the cycle of irritation and inflammation. Highly RECOMMEND TRY IT!! If "ALL"l it does is replaces your antacids that is a HUGE SUCCESS STORY!!

I absolutely love this product. If you've ever had fish oil capsules, you know that they tend to make you have "fishy burps" later. Well, these give you orange burps. I don't mind, because I like orange and it tastes good. It also is a great indicator that the product has made it to its destination, which I really appreciate. I use this capsule daily as needed to work on gerd and gut health issues. After taking these consistently, bloating and gut health issues go away, my throat stops feeling cut and raw, and my throat and esophogas no longer feel tight and restricted. It's very healing and for me, at least, it's a miracle worker that I rely on. I also utilize a paleo diet with lots of bone broth. I have found these reviews helpful in offering me ideas of other supplements to take, so I will share that I am also on the following: digestive enzymes with lipase, hcl betaine, dgl, mastic gum blend (aor gastro relief), d3, fish oil, quercetin with bromelain, berberine, chanca piedra. These are all used as needed for specific health issues, or in a few cases daily, along with mushroom dual-extract powders, milk thistle, ashwagandha, and amazing grass original blend. I also utilize burdock root, nettle, dandelion, and mint in a tea form, and take in a lot of ginger, turmeric, prebiotic and probiotic items. I highly recommend all of these for general health.

My husband was suffering every morning coughing and throwing up from excess mucous. He could not even hold down a small amount of water. He also coughed while trying to sleep and had terrible heartburn (constant pain just below the breast bone) as well as sinus problems for months. He also "clock watched" all night and coughed a lot throughout the day and it would not go away. This has been going on for over a year and the doctor has tried antibiotics, acid reducers, allergy meds, nasal spays of which none worked. He was about to see a specialist. After doing a lot of research about these pills, he tried them. What a life changer! They have literally changed his life! He has none of the above mentioned anymore. He sleeps like a content baby and wakes up with none of the problems he had before. He takes 2x 500 mg after supper every evening. They make him sleepy in a good way (not like sleeping pills) and wakes refreshed and he doesn't have to rely on meds to help him sleep like he did before. He has not experienced any negative affects at all, not even orange burps, but he does take them at night, then goes to bed a 1-2 hours while later. He noticed the difference with one dose and it just got better as time went on. I have also been taking them because I can not take the prescription meds for heartburn and have not noticed change yet, but have only taken for 2 nights. I am hopeful it will work as well for me, but for my husband the change has been incredible!

Seems to be doing something positive in helping with my acid reflux. Haven't finished the full course, so it is early days and don't know if it will be long term solution.. But so far, so good....:-)

Bottom line, this stuff works. I've been on maximum strength ranitidine/Zantac for several years. As soon as I attempted to skip a dose, it was pretty obvious. It didn't seem to matter if I cut out the carbonated beverages and chocolate, nothing really helped. I initially used the limonene every other day for a few weeks. After that I started going by feel and for the past couple of weeks I've been taking it once every 3-5 days. I'm not certain I'll be able to cut it out totally as others have, but this is such an improvement over twice a day pills. The one downer as others mentioned is the orange burps. I've found they're not pleasant, almost like a soda burp that goes up your nose. But it's worth it. I can't remember the last time I've been this comfortable. I was even able to take medication with a glass of water a couple of hours before bed. In the days of Zantac, I definitely would have felt that in the morning. Not anymore. The only thing left to do is to find a home for the unopened packages of Zantac in the cupboard. Update - I did cut the limonene completely. It's now been several weeks that I've been off both the limonene and ranitidine. Update May 2012 - 6 months or so - still not taking anything.. no limonene and no ranitidine, and no heartburn/acid reflux. This is so awesome, wish I'd found it sooner!
