This is an awesome kit! For being the grand daddy of all ...
This is an awesome kit! For being the grand daddy of all gundams this kit doesn’t disappoint even with it’s simplistic design. There’s some nice color seperation, great articulation and a lot of good details and panel lining opportunities. It was definitely fun to build. The arms are a bit tricky at the joints. For some reason one of the joints in the right arm keep popping out, but thankfully you don’t really bend the arm all the way for most poses so it’s not so bad. Also the copper stickers are a pain and tend to fade or scratch off if you keep adjusting them. I’m gonna paint those areas eventually. But other than those minor issues i have no major complaints and the kit still deserves 5 stars from me. Oh, and of you watch the movie “Ready Player One” you’re in for a treat!

Amazing gunpla model
I would recommend buying some metallic copper paint and brushes to paint the copper on instead. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ASCMXKA?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Most of the copper stickers they give you are perfectly fine but the thin ones for the inner elbows that are visible are horribly annoying to put on even with tweezers. Painting the elbow joints where the thin stickers go is far better option since that is an area that is quite visible and the paint will probably last longer than the stickers. Other than that this is one of the best MG gunpla models out there. It comes with a ton of stuff like 2 beam sabers, a rocket launcher, beam rifle, shield, and a core fighter that can go inside the gundam. My favorite thing about this is when you put the hands together because the articulation on it is absolutely insane. You will just sit there for a few minutes admiring the fact the hands are all casted together yet they have independently moving digits on each finger that you don't have to assemble.

Mastergrade 3.0 MEANS something.
Ok, hard choice for a first Mastergrade, so I reccomend picking something older first - this kit had some TINY pieces, so it's just good to have a flow in mind and snip with confidence. On the other hand, directions here are top notch, and this kit is CLEARLY a new gen of Mastergrade. There is nothing lacking here. The kit does NOT need paint. Multiple shades of plastic leave it looking really interesting once assembled. Panel line and the kit pops! But it doesn't NEED it either. Posing is 10/10, hands are amazing, weapons aren't dull. I'm really hoping we get more MGs like this. Some of the RG 1/144 are as good (looking at you Sazabi), but this is absolutely the best kit I've made. If you're going to do the quintessential RX-78, in 1/100 or 1/144, this is the kit.

Favorite Gundam kit so far
This was my fifth MG Gundam kit and so far it is my favorite. It was a joy to build and looks great finished, no painting necessary in my opinion. All the decals are stickers. No difficult to apply dry transfers. It also includes gold foil stickers for the joints which look great. The kit has very nice color separation with different shades of gray providing nice accents in the arms and legs and armor pieces. The hands are a big improvement too. They basically come pre-built with articulated joints on all fingers. You simply cut them from the sprue and twist and turn the fingers a few times and they are ready. The hands include special tabs to connect to the weapons which means they will not fall off. Over all I am very happy with this kit. Bandai has succeeded in producing a plastic kit of outstanding quality.

Another RX-78 Gundam Kit? Why Not!
This is just my second Master Grade Gundam model kit and I'd say I am impressed. My other Gundam RX-78 is "The Origin" version so basically, my review of this model is to compare then. Personally, I like this one and The Origin version equally, they look the way they are because they were designed in accordance to where they are based from which I shall explain below. Version 3.0 is well detailed and parts color separation is what one is to expect. In the photo I attached here, the only paint application I did were the gold parts on the knee and elbow joints. Panel lining and mild weathering effect doesn't really count as parts painting because basically for me, that is just an after effect and an option that not all Gunpla builders choose to do. In short, if you don't really like to paint your Gunpla due to a variety of reasons, this kit is for you. The plastic used in Version 3.0 feel a bit flimsier and has a sense that it's like it's going to break easily compared to the one used on The Origin version. Despite the "feel" quality, Version 3.0 actually has three tones of white (white, light grey, and very light brown), this helps with detail because BanDai decided that the RX-78's body panels vary in terms of whites depending on where the panel is located which I think is a nice touch. "The Origin" White has a yellowish touch to it and for some reason, it captures the looks from late-70's anime as it appeared on television. Version 3.0 is very well detailed with panel lines and indentations. These little things simply bring the model that "well engineered" look. You've probably seen panel lines in scale model military aircraft and tanks, right? Gundam is basically a military weapon in a fictitious time line and military conflict! -- That's it! It gives you that kind of impression and it's something, in my opinion, that "The Origin" version lacks. The Origin version has way lesser parts (14 parts runners versus Ver 3.0's 22 parts runners!) and it really shows -- that it is a humanoid robot. Version 3.0 is also a robot, but it has that "mechanical marvel" to it. Shape and form wise, the Version 3.0 may actually be based on the best RX-78 ever. "The Origin" version looked too blocky and too bulky next to Version 3.0 and since it was meant to commemorate the old original series from the late-70's (as mentioned earlier, even the kind of "white" used on the plastic) it sure did well doing just that. The simplicity and lack of detail on The Origin version highlighted Version 3.0's more realistic and more modern, more mechanical look to the Gundam RX-78... No wonder the life-sized Gundam display that once adorned (as it has just been permanently dismantled March 2017) Tokyo Japan was its basis. Even though the life-sized replica is now gone, you can have one for yourself on your desk by getting this kit!

Awesome
This is an awesome model! It was my first Master Grade build and was very fun to put together. Seems very sturdy and has great articulation and part separation. I bought the LED that fits in the chest and it looks cool when lit. I did have issues with the arms and legs falling off, but found a YouTube video that made me realize I hadn’t pushed them in all the way. You have to push then pretty hard... harder than you think you should until they click. Then they’ll never fall off again.

Best RX-78 kit to date
This is the best version of the Original Gundam RX-78-2 out there currently. It's extremely pose-able, the detail is amazing, and there isn't any need for painting. You could also add an LED module to make the eyes light up. Veteran Gunpla builders will add panel lining to it, but it will look good right after building it. It IS a Master Grade though, so I would recommend for beginners to do RE-100 Type models first to get their feet wet. The only thing I didn't like about this kit was the copper-colored stickers. Those were meant to give the elbow and knee areas a metallic look. But they will come off as soon as you start posing it. Better to just use metallic paint for those area.

A must have! Almost perfect!
This is definitely the best Gundam I have built so far. Love the articulation, and the details on the hands (every joint of every finger moves!!!), I wish all MG had hands like these. My only minor complaint is the ball joints that attach the feet to the legs don't seem to be secure and pop out at a certain angle. I also super glued some minor panels which were prone to popping off (front skirt details and the forehead "V" piece) Other than some minor issues, this is a perfect kit that all future kits should try to be like. A must have for any collection!

Amazing MG with RG armour detail and colour separation.
A lot of gundam builders would have built this years ago and probably built quite a few MGs to compare it too. This is my second MG (First being the Wing Zero EW), I mostly buy RG kits and the occasional HG. I'd been meaning to add the RX 78 2 to my collection since I got in to gunpla but was not sure with of the wide range available I would get. I was going to get the RG, but then found out the MG was basically the same kit but bigger and better. I was not disappointed. The kit was extremely fun to build with plenty of gimmicks and parts to make the build last (I've still yet to finish weathering the weapons and shield) I especially love the fully articulated hands, I wish Bandai did more MG kits like this. There are lots of reviews online that show off the articulation, detail, and gimmicks so they're worth checking out before you buy. The only down sides to this kit are: No water slide or dry transfer decals, only stickers (Some are worth using though). The elbow joints can be hard to put together for in experienced builders and need to taken back apart if you intend to paint after assembling. The shoulder armours can pop out if you don't fully push the polly cap all the way in when building the inner frame, it can be a real pain to get them back on. The waist is a little wobbly, but not a massive deal. This kit comes with an LED so no need to buy separately, however, the one I bought separately was better quality and brighter than the one it came with.

No trae calcomanias, solo trae pegatinas

Super Gundam kit

Super detailed
Incredibly detailed model. Building it took a day, and painting panel lines ate my Sunday but it was worth the time and effort. Tons of very tiny pieces on this one so give yourself lots of room to work with and a clean work area to keep from losing anything. Next to the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom, this is my favorite model so far. The Gouf wins out only due to it's ridiculous Shield/Gatling gun/sword and the whole Norris thing. The posability of this thing is unbelievable, bending joints will cause sections of the limbs to slid around, giving it a very "living machine" feel.

Magnifique!
Premier MG que je fais et c’est un vrai régale! Emballage impeccable, notice au top. Quelques difficulté de lisibilité sur le manuel, mais ça se fais bien quand même!
