The Ultimate Physics Revision Book Every page is designed to make even the most complex scientific subjects accessible and engaging. Topics are covered in one easy-to-follow single page and fully illustrated to explain the concept - perfect for visual learners. The essential points are in a Key Facts box, which is great for checking back later when revising. Calculations and graphs are set out in simple, logical steps to make the science feel achievable for all students. Whether youโre a keen physicist or just looking to get an A+,, this accessible science revision guide for children offers clear and concise coverage of all the core physics topics. From dramatic images of planets to bolts of lightning, vivid photography makes it easy for students to relate physics to the world around them. Complete the Series: Alongside SuperSimple: Chemistry , SuperSimple: Biology , and SuperSimple: Maths , these revision guides are part of an exciting new series designed not only to educate, but to inspire. Review: 5-Star Book for Newtonian Physics, 0-Star Book for No Mention of Relativity or Quantum Mechanics - Super Simple Physics is an excellent book to introduce a middle school student to Newtonian physics. It is extremely well-illustrated and organized, with easy-to-understand examples that relate to everyday life. It does a great job of covering the depth and breadth of Newtonian physics in summary form with occasional simple math examples requiring no more than a basic knowledge of how to manipulate an algebraic equation (it explains how when it does so) and simple trigonometry using a calculator. The problem is, AFAICT, that there is zero mention of relativity (general or special) and quantum mechanics. There should be a section where the limits of Newtonian physics are mentioned as to how things break down at the level of very small or the level of very massive objects or things traveling near the speed of light. Rutherford and Bohr get a brief mention in passing; Einstein gets none. Super Simple Physics could refer the interested reader to other introductory books on relativity or quantum mechanics. DK has an excellent overview book for the layman/secondary school student with beautiful illustrations of concepts in quantum mechanics entitled Simply Quantum Physics (a separate series from Super Simple books). I haven't found a similar book yet for an aspect of relativity. The perceived paradoxes of special and general relativity and quantum mechanics are among the knowledge that can make physics fascinating. Too bad that DK Books does not offer a little bit of that cheese for the young reader to nibble on in the Super Simple Physics book, which is otherwise a wonderful book that I highly recommend to introduce a middle school student to physics, perhaps in more interesting fashion than they'll experience in school. I have several complaints about the Kindle Edition and desertcart's PC Kindle Reader. The Windows Kindle Reader has been dumbed down so it's not possible to set a bookmark or search. I can do both on my iPhone Kindle Reader (but the iOS reader never gives me any search results!). For the Kindle Edition, the lovely illustrations are best appreciated on a large screen and without a large screen, some of the text displays in very small font on a phone. Maybe the difficulty of reading a Kindle book on a Windows computer is caused by lack of demand for a PC reader or is perhaps an attempt to induce the reader to buy Kindle devices or larger-screened Fire devices on desertcart. Or perhaps the problem is that DK Books made little effort to produce a fully-featured Kindle book. Review: Fun to just read through - I love the graphics. They are beautiful, clear and not too many to a space. The explanations are also concise and appropriate for kids. The range of concepts is thorough but not overwhelming. It's actually fun to just read through and also a PERFECT reference book too.

True to the title!
What a great resource to use along with a physics class! My son, 13, is homeschooled and taking physics this year. This book really makes the concepts he learning simple to understand. Highly recommend!

Great screen-free learning time
This type of book is really engaging for kids and can easily capture their attention for a long time. It creates great screen-free time, which is very beneficial for their development. That said, in terms of content organization, it would be even better if each topic could be explored from a wider range of angles. Also, the way topics are introduced could be improvedโstarting with simpler concepts and then gradually building into deeper, more comprehensive explanations. A clearer progression from basic to more advanced ideas would make the content easier to understand and more effective overall.

Simple and visually appealing examples
Very helpful for a beginner learning physics. With colorful and detailed examples the book makes learning more fun and reinforces more knowledge than black and white printed sheets given out by a teacher.

An amazing book of physics
What an amazing book! I was hooked at first sight. I wish it had a hardcover, though. But the print quality is excellent, and it's packed with content. Now I just have to read it and learn a lot.
