I'm a plumber / HVAC tech .... this is what I tell all my customers to get
in my area my power goes out a lot... any Carbon Monoxide Detector that is plugged into the wall outlet .. kills the battery back-up within a few hours and starts beeping! I lose my power all night many times and that plug in the wall units always start beeping while I'm trying to sleep.... so I take it off the wall and throw it outside so I can get some sleep.... the Carbon Monoxide Detector is needed when the power comes back on... many times the snow covers the exhaust vent so when the power comes on it's dangerous... and sadly the stupid plug in models are now out on my lawn! this one just sits on my dresser in my bedroom... with nothing to worry about for 10 years!!!! no battery back-up to die and start beeping... no alert that the power is out... it just sits there and does it's job. this also has a digital read out so if there is Carbon Monoxide in the house you can see if the digital meter goes up. Carbon Monoxide Detectors go off at 35 parts per million .... that's when it gets slightly dangerous..... but if you had say.... 28 PPM in the house... you may feel sick... you may think you have the flue??? day after day you say if I could only get rid of this darn flu I'd feel better..... then the weather warms up for a few days so the heating system doesn't run as much and you start feeling good.... then a cold snap happens and the heating systems runs all the time... so your constantly breathing 20 to 30 PPM and getting sick... and all the time the Carbon Monoxide Detector doesn't go off because it hasn't reached the 35 PPM trigger.... with this Carbon Monoxide Detector you can see the read out and know if you have any Carbon Monoxide in the house. also when you cook on the stove you make a small amount of Carbon Monoxide .... so all Carbon Monoxide Detector say right on them DO NOT PLACE IN KITCHEN ... with this one you can place it anyplace you want. the best place to keep it is in the bedroom where you sleep.... Carbon Monoxide puts you to sleep and it is very hard to wake up from... so you need a Carbon Monoxide Detector where you sleep... NOT ON THE HEATING SYSTEM... and this can be moved from bedroom to bedroom! I have sold these to my heating customers for more than 10 years and they are just starting to beep END meaning end of life..... 10 GREAT years with these units!!!! I LOVE THEM! simple .... easy to use..... safe... and a no brainer... put it in your bedroom where you can see the display and forget it.

Got good reviews in multiple places. Easy to install and use. Comes with a 10 year lithium battery--no beeping like the smoke detectors! Clear instructions on choosing the best place to install it and instructions on checking it periodically. It's got a nice display. I don't have any loose carbon monoxide to test it on, but I am going to trust it based on the reviews in multiple websites.

Excellent choice!
This one replaces an old round one and I used the existing screws in the wall! There was some leeway in this unit in getting the placement of the old screws to work!! Excellent choice! Clear, easy instructions, quality product, not cheap looking or feeling. Permanent battery for the life of the unit.

To replace a unit that "expired"......10 years + a few months....ordered the same model, did not have to change the mounting bracket ! On to another 10 ! ( do not buy an annual battery model ! )

if i would go to Co##co before - I'd buy there, 2 for same price. anyway - easy to install and looks working, would hope for 10 years.
