Pentel Oil Pastels - Set 50

Looking to get back into art and trying to find a medium that inspires me to do things again, I've been attempting a number of different things. I haven't used oil pastels since the early 2000s and decided to try them out again - I had fun! I don't have a lot of experience with different brands but if you are familiar with the Royal & Langnickel brand, Pentel is much better. The ease of blending is there, where as it's non-existent with the R&L brand. The only down side would be the smell. It is a very strong smell and I would recommend letting it air out for a few hours before using them properly. Otherwise, I very good product and I would recommend it to those looking to try out a budget friendly oil pastel.

I purchased these oil pastels for my daughter when she was in kindergarten, and now she’s in second grade—and they’ve held up amazingly well! The colors are still so vibrant and smooth, making every art project fun and creative. The quality really impressed me, especially since they’ve lasted this long with frequent use. Definitely a great buy, and I highly recommend them for kids or anyone who loves art!

These pencils are easy to use and creamy, so they can be used directly on paper or canvas. Blend smoothly and easily for subtle shades, tints, or color blends. You can create many wonders with these colors. My daughter loves them.

This is a good starter set with a lot of color variety. They’re fun and easy to use. The quality isn’t amazing, but for the price they’re great.

I wanted something to "play draw" with ... the price was right especially for the variety of colors.

Pentel Is the best! the colors are vibrant is blend beautifully!

Really love the great variety of colors. These are not water soluble, which is fine for my application. They lay down smoothly and richly on pretty much any paper and will blend slightly, using a fingertip or a silicone tool. My only complaint is that they Smell Very Strongly! Opening the box, the smell is almost overpowering. I am usually not sensitive to art supply odors but I know many people are, so just be aware before purchasing, in case that’s an issue for you. Once I finished my project, I checked to see if the smell transferred to the paper and I could still detect it but only slightly.

Great product, great price. Took a while to get here, but for the value it was worth the bit of wait.

Ho acquistato questo set di pastelli ad olio dopo aver letto le tantissime recensioni positive, diciamo che sono praticamente andata sul sicuro e le mie aspettative non sono rimaste deluse. I pastelli sono lunghi circa 6 cm, ognuno avvolto da un'etichetta protettiva completa di numero identificativo e nome del colore. La confezione è rigida, con un coperchio di plastica trasparente e ogni pastello è alloggiato in scompartimenti singoli, in questo modo non si muovono e il rischio che si possano rompere è minimo. Sono davvero molto morbidi e pastosi, si miscelano molto facilmente anche con il dito e i colori sono tantissimi, molte sfumature sono simili ma questo, secondo me, è positivo, anche perché si può passare da una gradazione all'altra in modo più graduale e naturale. L'unico appunto che potrei fare , a cercare il pelo nell'uovo, è il forte odore che si sente appena aperta la scatola, davvero molto intenso, spero che scompaia con il tempo, magari lasciando il coperchio aperto per qualche giorno, comunque non è un problema così rilevante da farmi cambiare idea su questi pastelli, per un prezzo così conveniente non mi sarei aspettata tanto, una cosa è leggere le recensioni positive, un'altra poter toccare con mano e constatare l'effettiva qualità di un prodotto. Acquisterò certamente altri articoli di questo brand, assolutamente consigliati!
