I have tried several turf seeds and after a bitterly cold spell of winter weather, this grass is still very dark green with only a slight indication of dormancy (browning) at the tips of the grass blades. For the cost, this particular variety of Barenbrug turf definitely gives excellent results in the transition zone, it pregerminates well, sprouts rapidly (may pout for a week) and also resists the summer heat. When the fall temps began to shift into winter, these seeds continued to produce even more sprigs, I am excited to overseed with more of this in late winter.

I can testify to the outstanding quality, performance, beauty and durability of this grass seed. Please know I am ultra-picky and particular when it comes to my lawn. This perennial ryegrass delivers. It ain't cheap. Currently it sits under a foot of snow, but once melted , and the grass starts poking through, the brilliant deep green coloring is especially noticeable, compared to existing grass. I have been using Barenbrug perennial ryegrass seed for new lawns and spot areas. Grass seed at the mega stores simply does not compare. It has regenerative qualities. We will see how it looks this spring. Follow instructions and water like clockwork. It is highly responsive.

This grass seed is seriously amazing. After a bad experience with TruGreen that completely burned out my lawn, I needed something reliable — and this was it! This stuff sprouts quickly even in less than desirable temperatures & ground.

Purchased in March 2021. The bag purchased from Amazon was applied properly and had very little of it germinate. Re applied weeks later , lightly scarified ground, topped with a little top soil and covered with 1/8" peat moss and kept seed moist for two weeks with very little germination. Zero herbicides used other than the Scott's starter with mesitrione. I was excited to see what the Turf Pro RPR was all about. I believe it's a good quality seed however its unacceptable to purchase a 10 lb bag to get failed results. Please Barenbrug, send me another bag and I will send what littleni have left. UPDATE.. 6/14/21.. barenbrug still wants to know exactly how I applied the seed. They are following my Instagram Superta329 and actually think maybe I did something wrong. I have an amazing lawn and never had such poor germination. I recently posted a small 115sqft of Rebel TTTF 2 month update which is amazing yet 4th attempt of their seed andbstill not filling in. Very disappointed in this company. Go to Superseedstore of you want some premium Elite seed. They obviously dont stand behind their product. NoTE. I will say that I believe that the RPR is a great seed from all my research however the bag I purchased from Amazon had very poor germination and listed weed seed which barenbrug says it should be zero weed seed. Hmmmm....I noticed Amazon hasn't had it for purchase in over 3 months. Shady company.

Overall the bag I purchased was 10 pounds. Out of the 10 pound bag, you only get 5 pounds of actual grass seed. The other half is the yellow jacket seed coating. Also, you do not actually get all RPR grass seed, about 60-70% of the grass seed is actually RPR, the other is a non-RPR grass seed. For those that don't know what RPR is, it is the regenerating perennial ryegrass, which forms the stolon's and spreading capabilities. This is the main draw of this product. But in reality you are getting about 4 pounds out of a 10 pound bag of RPR seed for about $75. Quite pricey, but Barenbrug is known for quality, and if you're looking for a lawn that stands out from your neighbors, this seed will help you achieve that. Anyone who complains about the seed not germinating, simply is not keeping the seed wet at all times. This is a necessity; my seed took about 7 days to germinate. It was in the 90's the first 2 days, rained heavily, cooled to mid 70's with overnight lows in the 50's, followed by another day of steady rain at about day 6. The seed germinated the night after the steady rain. Any time it was sunny and dry, watered the lawn twice a day to try and keep seed as moist as possible. If you let it dry out, it will most likely not germinate. That is not Barenbrug's problem, that is the user's problem.

Im definitely buying more. This sprouts so fast and doesn't have that trash grass as a companion. Its strictly ryegrass.

This stuff is amazing! Seeded a new lawn nd covered with peat moss. Sprouted in about 3 days and became a great lawn in about 3 weeks.
