Met all my expectations for the price
All of the other bad reviewers must have gotten lemon's or was expecting this sander to be the best on the market. This was my first sander. As a wood carving hobbyist I wasn't looking to sand my entire kitchen cabinets with this, bookshelf or deck. I needed to sand a chainsaw project that I had made out of poplar. With that being said it handled it with ease and done a great job, because I had some pretty tough sanding spots. I used two different settings, the one that came on it originally and the small one to get in tight places. Here's my review: Sander: Powerful little motor and did the job great. Super easy to change different sanders. My only complaint is that I was expecting it to be a little smaller widthways, an inch to inch and a half smaller would have been perfect. 5/5 Sandpaper: Other reviewers had complained with the sandpaper flying off or giving them other problems. With me the sandpaper never gave me any problems and stayed in place. Worked great. Still had lots of grit left on them to do other projects. 5/5 Dust Filter: I thought the filter worked pretty good, not great, it got most of the dust up. If anything to me this was the worst thing about this sander. Luckily for me dust doesn't bother me very much. 4/5 Lastly, when making the choice to purchase this sander I had looked at every other brand on the market. But I was on a low budget and couldn't afford anything really expensive and I ignored the 3 1/2 star reviews and the negative ones (which i don't do most of the time). I just said what the hell and just went for it since I needed one. I looked at it as, hey it's only $42.00 bucks from Amazon (it's $60.00 at Lowe's by the way) if it doesn't work or has any problems i'll just send it back. It worked great for me. So take a chance on a $42.00 sander at least it's not a 2 or 300.00 one that sucks and takes your money.

I Like This Sander
I got this sander to use on small projects, mainly RC boat kits that I have been working on. I was getting tired of hand sanding large flat pieces of wood on the sides and bottoms of boat hulls. I figured an electric sander would make the job easier. I ordered this one because I figured I could use the "Mouse" like pads, but the idea of having the random orbital ability appealed to me just in case I ever wanted to tackle something even bigger. The product is well made, easy to use, and works well. I've used it extensively on the two RC boat kits that I've been working on, and I've been very happy with the results. I've mainly used the "Mouse" pads and the small detail pads. Both have worked extremely well. It's easy to hold onto and easy to control, which was very important to me. I've had sanders in the past that I found required a bit of a heavy hand, and they ultimately ended up causing me to sand too much wood off of the project. So far, I really like this product. I've had great luck with Black and Decker products in the past...I just this past year had to replace an 18v cordless drill that I got in 2000, and the only reason I did that was because the new battery for it cost as much as a new Lithium powered drill. I did replace it with another Black and Decker product, though. I recommend this to someone looking for a nice little sander.

Everything works great, zero issues
Everything works great, zero issues. Only 4 stars because you can't really buy more sandpaper for the finishing head...5" orbital pads are easy to find, but I have to cut larger pads using a template to make them fit the other head, which is kind of a pain. But for the price of this tool, it is worth the slight hassle. It is not loud or violent, as described by others. It's pretty mild compared to other sanders I have used, great for small/more delicate projects. Dust collection: it's a sander, none of them have "good" dust collection...The thing I like most about this tool is how it takes up less room than having three separate sanders. Would recommend to DIY'ers and people who enjoy simple project woodworking.

TOO MANY DESIGN FLAWS TO USE!!!
This sander sounded great on paper, but after using it for a couple of weeks I am returning it to get a different one. It's almost like Black & Deckers development team and their engineering team were so proud of themselves and the fact that they made 4 sanders in 1 that they completely forgot to test it. Because after pulling it out of the box there were flaws that any testing would have shown. The Sanding capabilities of the disc sander are pretty good. I haven't used it as a finishing sander because you have to use the Black & Decker mouse hook and loop papers, and they are expensive. I foolishly thought that the finishing attachment would have clips like every other one on the planet and you would be able to use regular sanding paper with it to keep down costs and use higher grit paper if wanted. Wrong. However, this isn't the biggest offense of this mouse the dust collector is worthless. When done sanding a TV stand my garage, even with the main door and the back door open for ventilation, was coated in a thick layer of dust. The Dust collector, on the other hand, had about a tablespoon in it. Now if this was a huge media center that took all day sure then the amount of dust everywhere I would understand. but it is not. Also, I should have had more dust in the collector maybe even need to empty it once. the other problem with the dust collector is that the port isn't round. That means that you can't attach it to a vacuum to help suck the dust up. And after all of that, I don't think B&D tested out the handle portion because it is pretty much unusable. The top of the sander leans slightly in the direction of the handle making it easier to use with the on/off switch between your thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand. In order to use two hands one over the sander the other on the hand, you either have to put your dominant hand on the handle or choke up on the main unit it to the point that your hands are touching making it very uncomfortable. I do have a solution if you don't need the detail sander. Buy 2 sanders an Orbital disc sander, there's a decent selection for less money that will perform just as well and collect a lot more dust. And then buy a finishing sander make sure it's one with clips for regular sand paper. I know your thinking that that will be more expensive, and you're right, initially. However, by buying normal sand paper and not the ones for this particular sander you will save a lot of cash. Remember to check any of the sanders that you might buy that they have a collector that you can attach to a vacuum cleanerjust incase that one refuses to catch dust also.

Great Sander
I bough my first one in 2003 or 2004. It had been an amazing palm sander. There are multiple settings one may use depending on the sanding application. I used the heck out of this sander and it finally died. The sander is still working great, but the pads are the items that failed after 14-15 years. The rubber just fell apart. I looked up the replacement parts, and to buy them was only $5 less than the cost of buying a new sander. I though, better to have a spare than buy the replacement parts for that price. Less than $4 per year to have a sander that has been a great tool is worth it to me. I think this is a outstanding value.

Very useful, but the bearings fail quickly
This is the 2nd of this product that I've owned. It is a versatile sander - Very efficient at sanding into corners. It's also the 2nd one that has failed. It's a much heavier duty sander than the corner cat, etc, but with extended usage, the lower bearing integrated into the sand pad gums up and fails. Black and Decker does not offer the bearings and all of the pads are on backorder as of June 2011. With a little ingenuity, a micro phillips head screwdriver, and a set of snap ring pliers, it is possible disassemble the pad and access the bearing. It can be pushed out and a replacement installed. The bearings are available online. The Bearing number is 6902RS. I suggest replacing with 6902-2RS as these have double rubber seals (which should have been used initially). If you're planning on using this sander a lot, you may want to go ahead and order a replacement bearing set before they fail (and they will).

Awesome sander, absolutely love it
Awesome sander, absolutely love it! Used it to totally redo my kitchen cabinets. The sander is very user friendly and does an excellent job, the only problem i had was with one of the platen attachments, two of the rubber guides broke off, i could still stick them back on so it still worked but was a pain 2 change over to other platen. I called black and decker and they promptly sent me a replacement platen free of charge. This sander was worth every penny i paid and more!

Multi Sander was a Big Hit!
My husband and I repurpose and rehab furniture and other items for a small antique business that we work at on the side. My poor husband had been sanding everything by hand. I watched him sweat and blister while working on these different pieces of furniture and decided there had to be a better way. I ordered the Black & Decker MS2000 Sander for him for Christmas, and he loves it! He really likes the ease of the set up and the many uses it has. As he says, "the sander does all of the work." I am very happy with my purchase. I probably could have searched the world over and found it a little cheaper in one of the big box stores, but I thought the price on line was very reasonable, and I didn't have to fight the Christmas crowds!

bien y aceptable, no me ha fallado y he avanzado mucho
