SPLENDID BOOK AND TRANSACTION!
You CAN judge this book by its cover...a doorway to the awesome world of the horse and all who revere them. This most excellent book is profuse with equestrian scenes, inviting decor, and and historic notes that will keep you spellbound; at the least, quite egaged each time you open its beautiful cover. This is a beautiful coffee table book reflecting all of the imagery and style of horse people. I enjoyed this book because unlike a lot of horsey books which focus on the animals, this one focused squarely on the people and their homes. It's also about the lifestyle of being part of the equestrian community. Some of the items photographed made me feel nostalgic like the cutesy horsey sweaters I remember my riding instructor wearing when I was a child. Others were more like interesting solutions to horse people problems, like what to do a giant collection of show ribbons amassed over the course of one's lifetime? For those who love the imagery of fox hunting, polo, kids in hunter shows on shaggy shetlands, ball gowns, etc. this book will make you swoon. The horsemanship portrayed here is not the horsemanship of a cowboy, but the horsemanship of the field, the polo field, the racetrack, and the show ring. I live in the city, and so I can't always look out the window to see my beloved rolling Maryland hills. This book is a good guide for bringing a bit of the country into my little city row house, though.

Nice table top book
If you want a book that has pretty pictures to look at then this is a great book. If on the other hand you are looking for a book to help you achieve the Equestrian Style in your home, then this book isn't it.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
Beautifully written and contains lovely photographs of an interesting variety of homes, staging and composition. I am so inspired with paint brush and curtain material to re-do a few rooms in the house in this manner. Always will scout garage sales for equestrian items such as book ends, bowls, postcards for framing and needlepoint. Bravo.

Good coffee table book
The real selling point for me is how good this book cover looks on top of the vintage steamer trunk that I use as my coffee table. It almost cannot be beat. The book itself is pretty good, though I wish some of the photos were a little better in terms of the quality of the still.

Equestrian Style
Beautiful large coffee table book. I thought it would have more interior design pages of multiple horse owners homes and how they incorporated living with horses into formal design.
