Buying this seemed to be a fun and safe way to hang upside down in cool ...
I told my sensible self that I bought this to help with back pain from sitting at a desk all day, but I secretly have always wanted to be one of those acrobats twirling around on yards and yards of silk twenty feet from the ground! Buying this seemed to be a fun and safe way to hang upside down in cool poses and fuel my whimsy. Silliness aside, it's a fantastic product. My back and neck have never felt so good! It almost feels like I'm taller. Installing it was a little bit of a challenge, but nothing that couldn't be solved by a trip to Home Depot and chatting with their associates. I did order the ceiling mounts recommended with this item on Amazon. However, when I went to Home Depot to purchase the lag screws, I discovered that the recommended fasteners would not work for my ceiling's beam structure. A stud finder is invaluable if you can't see your ceiling's beam structure. Also note you have more flexibility for placing your trapeze along the length of a beam rather than across multiple beams. Before you buy mounting fixtures, determine if your ceiling beams are 2x8s or 4x8s. Most typical older buildings like my apartment will have 2x8s. If that is the case, you can't use the recommended mount item on Amazon (Amazon mounts require the beam to be at least 4" wide since there are 4 holes for lag screws around the circle plate). I ended up using two 3/8" screw eye bolts from Home Depot. Each was spec'd for 325lbs (total 650lbs), which was better than the Amazon recommended ceiling mount's 200lbs (total 400lbs). The option I used was also cheaper--about $7 for two screw eye bolts. The Amazon recommended option required two mounts and eight screws, which would've totaled to around $10. It's not a huge difference, but if there's a cheaper option, why not take it? Mounting the screw eye bolts into the ceiling required drilling a pilot hole half the diameter of the bolt. It's easy to turn by hand for the first bit, but when you start feeling more resistance, insert a dowel/stick/pole in the ring and use it like a lever to generate extra force. I'm a tiny, not so strong woman, but I had no problem putting these in using the dowel method. The hardest part was figuring out how to reach the ceiling without a tall enough ladder (solved by using my dining room table). The whole process took about fifteen minutes to mark the placement, drill the holes, install the hooks, and hang the trapeze. When it was first hung, I was a little baffled about how to get into it. Youtube videos and a footstool were very helpful at this stage. There are a wealth of videos on the YogaBody Naturals website that are also really helpful. I recommend watching them before you set up the swing, so you don't torment yourself like me by having to sit next to a fully setup swing watching youtube videos about how to get into it and use it. If you need to adjust the height, you can add or remove knots in the rope. I ended up taking out two of the knots in mine to get the swing to hang at the proper waist level, and I'm about 5'1". The swing is really easy to put away, travel with, and put up again, which is a huge plus in a smaller space like mine (I also have a cat that would probably terrorize it if I left it up). I just unclip the sling and the handles and put them in the bag they came in. If you fold up the sling nicely, it's very easy to fit everything in the bag. I leave the ropes hanging in my ceiling hooks just because I'm so short that I'm not bothered by them hanging there. If you're taller, it's easy enough to grab them down or re-hang them if you don't want them out. All in all, it's great product. I love using it. It doesn't feel like I'm exercising--it feels like playing! However, don't be mistaken, it will give you a work out. Just getting in and out of the swing requires arm and ab exercise, and coming out of inversions slowly is also a great ab work out (as my muscles have been reminding me all day). I'd say that any product that can trick me into working out without realizing it is a great one. Definitely recommend the yoga trapeze!

Great! I've had mine for more than 10 years! still good as new!
The reason I bought this in the first place is, well, they have this unbelievable deal of try for $1 and return if you don't like it. The price back then was $99 and it hasn't changed much since then. Sure upgrades cost more but there is no price gouging. The reason I that I kept it was because my back hurt back then and this took up little realty in our apartment. I hung it on the "pull up" bar for my inversion boots; those boots were impossible to get tight enough and to get my feet over the bar; comical really. That bar was anchored into the studs so I felt like it was the safest thing we had at the time. Plus I knew that they weight tested every trapeze to withstand over 600 pounds. Going upside-down, I want my noggin to be safe. The other no brainer is their 10 year warrantee!! a pretty easy no brainer. Trying it for the first time I was dizzy and, I am not gonna lie, some positions hurt where the straps cut into my leg. Using the trapeze over time, My hips opened up more and the discomfort went away. Now, it is very nice to hang upside down. Sometimes I will stay fifteen minutes upside-down, writing emails or reading the paper. At first I would only do 30 seconds. I learned that the sling material shouldn't be too high up your back but it should cover an area of boy shorts or boxer briefs. That helps the discomfort as well. I know that I can only use one at a time but having two trapezes will allow my partner and I to have our setups permanently hung at our heights. Spoiled, I know. Plus they have made some nice improvements. I will go over them in a video. Noteworthy: The daisy chain straps have two different sized end loops at either end so make sure that you put both straps on the same way so that they and the handles will be the same height. The carabiners (now 2 instead of 4, so no clanking sounds) are sharp so make sure that they don't catch the material when you close them. One of my carabiners is stiff and sometimes doesn't self close, I just have to be vigilant in checking my trapeze before use and make sure that it closed. Once closed, it stays closed. The handles are more sturdy and less spongy/ less porous making the new handles easier to clean and disinfect. I'm not sure if it is the material or the handles on the new trapeze but there is a smell when you first open the box. The new material seems slightly more slippery than the old. Nothing of concern, more of a feel. You can take the metal off of both the old and new trapeze and wash them in cold water with vinegar. You cannot leave them to dry in the sun or use the dryer. I haven't tried that yet. Even thought there weren't any yoga trapeze classes back then, it was a great tool to gain some spinal space, hangin upside down; which is still my favorite thing to do. Now I am working on upper back strength and shoulder support. especially since I spend more time working at the computer at home. My shoulders do feel better and I am sitting and standing taller due to those workouts . The upper body workout on the trapeze is the only thing that I have changed. There are tutorials on the website now and you tube videos; but I look forward to the day when there is some sort of directory to find a "yoga trapeze instructor near you". I think that I would use it even more often if there were.

Love my yoga trapeze!
I took an aerial class in San Diego but since moved and my new area doesn't have a place for aerial yoga. So I started looking and googling my options. I went back and forth between this trapeze and a regular silk. I ended up going with this trapeze because of the handles; it gives you the ability to do more than just yoga. I watched quite a few youtube videos showing off how they were using the trapeze and was quite impressed. The trapeze was easy to set up (OK, I enlisted my neighbor's help to hang it up in the garage). But it really only took about 20 minutes. I bought the ikea suspension hooks everyone recommended and then got 4 - 3in hex screws and bolted to studs in the garage. I also bought the interlocking mats for a little bit of cushion beneath me. I also purchased the videos that YOGABODY sells on their website and they are excellent! So hopeful and I love the flows! Right now I just stream them on my iPad, but I believe you can download them or purchase a DVD. Eventually I will put a TV in the garage so it's a little easier to see but it's a work in progress. Anyway, back to the trapeze. I feel safe while inverted and can deepen my stretches more so than traditional yoga. Being inverted feels AMAZING on my back and I definitely feel a sense of calmness after hanging around upside down. I even had my 6'0, 195lb boyfriend try it out. The trapeze handled him like a pro and with a little guidance, he was able to flip upside down as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this trapeze.

Highest quality Yoga Trapeze on the market.
Excellent quality Yoga Trapeze. The material is durable and well made. It feels slightly thicker than other Yoga Trapeze that I have. The carabiners are smooth and solid so they don't snag the material like previous carabiners that snag the material BC they have a sharp edged when opening and shutting . the hands are strong yet soft durbale quality rubber. I prefer these more because they are easier to clean...and less likely to break. The foam handles I have on another one have already been torn off 🙄 This new make of the Yoga Trapeze from Yoga Body has made this easier to set and hang than other brands. As far as the quality this is top of line. The practice of using this is beneficial and helps with alleviating tension in the back shoulders and neck. Many different exercises can be completed and practiced with this . I will update with a video.

I would recommend this brand
I'll start by stating I have CRPS in all four limbs. This is a nervous system disease/condition that I have had for three years. I have tried a gazillion things including medicine, injections, supplements, diet, therapies galore, specialist doctors, natural healing doctors and so much more. My doctor suggested inversion therapy but we live in a small villa here in FL. I came across inversion therapy with a yoga trapeze and did lots of research. I would recommend this brand, YogaBody, if you are also looking to purchase a trapeze. The quality is excellent. I wish it came in more colors to match decor since we decorate in neither purple nor orange but I know that is a superficial thing. My husband hung it in our living room with two "J" hooks. He put them directly into the studs and it worked great. He is 250lbs, 6'6" and I made him try it first. It held him fine and so I knew it would also work for my 130lb body. The black ropes that come with it were needed to hang it at a low enough length for me to get in/out since I have very little muscle tone due to the disease. My muscles have atrophied in all four limbs and so I cannot do most of the poses that were recommended or mentioned in videos. For the first week the trapeze left bruises on my lower butt/upper thighs. I asked the company directly about this and they said I must have it in the wrong position. But I did my research and knew I had it exactly where they stated. I now lower the material so it covers more of my thighs which evenly distributes the weight. This is not what the company recommends but it is the only way I can use this. I bruise easy and my body is in constant pain; I didn't need to add more because the material was cutting me in an odd spot. I can do the "superman" with help. I can mostly invert myself at this point by myself but I hold on. I accidentally fell over yesterday after inverting and it hurt but clearly that is user error and just the fact that I cannot do hold myself on that. I am hoping to work myself up to inverting more. My muscles are screaming at me but I do see myself being able to do more which is pretty awesome. I am still going to the chiropractor 3x a week but he says that my back has loosened and my neck is not feeling as tense. Has this cured anything? No. Does it promise to? No. Well, they sort of do. They state "Heal your spine at home". I am not sure this will heal any medical problems but it does feel like I'm building some muscle back after two weeks of doing this several times a day, every day. They also state it is painless. It is not. My husband also felt like the material cut into his body even after we adjusted it. We have to find a better way to raise/lower the ropes for my 5'8" frame to his 6'6" frame. We are using it quite low for me so I can get into it since I cannot use my arms to assist. We had to put the knot on the black rope back through itself so the trapeze is hanging approx. 24" off the ground. It still allows me to hang inverted but my husband hits his head on the ground. We will get there. I will try to add photos to my review soon. I'm giving it 4 stars. It is super well made and I think you will be thrilled if you can easily lift yourself into the trapeze.

Worth every penny!
I took some time before writing this review. Got a neighbor to install the bar in the doorway and it only took him about 30 minutes. I ordered my trapeze in purple because it's my favorite color and I got 2 shades of beautiful, depending which way you flip it :). I hung the trapeze in less than 15 minutes with everything perfectly "customized" for me in height adjustment, etc. It was SO easy. I use this thing most every night and many mornings. My last job of 9 months had me on concrete 5-7 miles a day for 11 hour days 5-6 days a week without breaks. My back suffered and I developed sciatic issues. I've done yoga since I was 6, (and got my certified to instruct a few years ago) and quickly could no longer just fold my body in half. Many days I could barely get out of bed and would get a Charlie horse in my lower back in my hips. In only a few weeks, my mobility has significantly increased and I'm well on the road to recovery for what NO 2 hour massage every 2 weeks and regular chiropractic adjustments could fix. It was just no match for what the trapeze offers with inversions that only being aerial can provide. I didn't even do the $1 offer to try it. I took ONE aerial class and ordered this thing at $99. I ordered a "silk" one also, to be able to have either option. This trapeze has the varied handles the silks don't provide, but the silks are much larger and softer for the "hammock" aspect. I have the best of both worlds and this trapeze has saved me SOOOO much money AND discomfort, AND is recovering me quickly to where I was almost a year ago and for the last 37 years!

Good quality-sturdy
This was one of the better reviewed aerial yoga setups on Amazon, and looked to have good quality parts for mounting. After receiving it and setting it up, I definitely trust the sturdiness of it but I am used to the long silks at the yoga studios I have been to. This is my first time using a hammock that wasn't 'silk' and therefore it doesn't stretch, which is nice, but also means it has more 'bite' to it for poses. My only complaint is this isn't as long as I would like it to be, I cannot do coffin pose or vampire given the length- as such, I have now purchases a separate silk for those poses specifically and for relaxing hammock time. I'm a little out of practice with aerial right now, so the 'bite' won't bother me for much longer, I just would like a bigger hammock offered of this material since the sturdiness and no stretch aspect is a huge plus. Oh, and unlike 'silks' this fabric is certainly not going to rip on you from wearing a ring or something so I expect it to be with me for a long time.

A Must-Have
This swing was the best thing I ever did for myself. I'm relieving so much tension in my shoulders and body and decompressing my back. I truly think that everyone needs one in their house. I first tried to install this with the IKEA mounts that were recommended. Turns out my ceiling joists were too narrow to accomodate that. I went with the O-Ring method to install on 2x4s in a condo. The O-Ring was about the length of my thumb and pretty darn thick. Fiance followed provided (emailed) instructions and drilled a hole into center of beam and then screwed in until fully placed. I watched a youtube video about a guy installing it this way into a door frame. Helpful tip was to put a little petroleum jelly on the tip of the screw before manually screwing it and it'll go in much easier. I'm happy to say these are securely placed in the roof and I've been on it off and on since I got it. I really notice the difference and all the information the company provides is very easy to follow and set up. There is a large chance for user error with this so I advise anyone to not do this when you don't have someone else home in case you get stuck/injured; and to be very slow and careful with your movements and not come up very suddenly. Listen to your body and this swing will provide limitless use. I unclipped the seat and just had the handles to do some floor stretches. It provides you with great leverage and can help to build strength in nearly any position. I cannot recommend this swing enough. Literally you can do anything with it. Even take a meditative doze. (Not sure how safe it is to sleep in but I can confirm you can lay down as if you're in a hammock. especially if you use the longest handles as a foot rest) Cannot recommend enough!

Excelente!

Hip and back pain has decreased massively and better sleep.
As a martial artist and dancer this is perfect for stretching. I had an inversion table but couldn’t fit it into my flat so gave it to my mum and dad. Needed something else purely for my back and found this. Cheaper than an inversion table and versatile. I’ve hung it over a pull Up bar in a doorway and seems sturdy after a week or so. I don’t have much room with it but after two days I’ve felt the benefits. I actually enjoy my evenings watching something on my laptop and messing about and hanging from the yoga swing. Sleeps improved and also hip inflammation and back pain has gone down quit significantly. I realise this might not be everyone and I don’t even use it for Ariel yoga! Just for me and what I need it’s perfect. I’d recommend to anyone even if you just want to elongate your back. My only problem and it’s minor is I don’t have any doorways high enough so my arms hang but I have found a way to to stretch out so it’s a minor.

Best price for best trapeze!
I did a lot of research for a yoga trapeze and discovered this is a company that cares about people & life! They have the best price because they want to help people heal. I could not justify spending close to $500 for very similar products. Purchasers have to realize the instructions and videos are on the seller's website so there is no waste of paper. The company has everything you need for free on their website! I had several questions and the company responded quickly and with detailed answers. The product is well constructed with solid seams & hardware. The installation was a little challenging with my plaster ceilings but the trapeze is up and it's solid!! Use a battery operated stud finder to be absolutely sure. The product is easy to use so buy one, have fun and heal!

We like it
This is pretty neat. My daughter and I like it. Installs very easily as long as you have a beam, high pull-up bar, swing set, etc. It's well made, though as another customer pointed out, you can replace the carabiners with better ones. To be clear, they are very strong and secure. No worry that they will break. But they are a bit rough around the opening mechanism and snag a bit on the fabric. Probably not an issue if you plan to install and leave it. If you plan to take it to the park and install/uninstall regularly, better to replace the carabiners with ones from the climbing/sports store since they would be much lighter and have completely smooth parts and wouldn't chew up the fabric.
