From the Manufacturer Mancala – a part of the “Cultural Classics Collection” is an all-time favorite, possibly even the “Oldest Game in the World”. Extraordinary claim but versions date back to 7000 B.C. Often referred to as, “The National Game of Africa”, this game can be played anywhere. Our version is crafte from solid wood as we wanted to capture the simplicity of design and beauty of the original boards while integrating the regional craftsmanship of the indigenous people. Each game includes: solid wood playing board – pictured on the board are the Ancient African Petroglyphs of the Tenere Desert, located in the middle of the Sahara. The “herd” pictured includes Elephants, Gazelle, Rhinoceros and other native species. 48 African trading beads - there are four different styles of beads (12 each) included in this set. The original trading beads were used as currency on trade routes all over Africa. Solid Wood hinges and closure. Mancala history booklet/rule book. For 2 Players or Teams ages 8 and up.

This "Original" Mancala game is more beautiful than the picture.You can use the original peices that are included or buy a bag of marbles. Either way, this is the funnest board game and very addicting. My next game purchased will be Chinese Checkers. Hopefully, I will be able to find it through this seller.

Beautiful version
Beautiful version of the game Mancala. Perfect gift for any fan, children or adult. I like that it folds over to save on space and stores the beads well, but the case is nice enough to leave out. it even comes with an extra bead, very helpful since we lost one under the couch the first time we played it.

My granddaughter is eight and learned to play Mancala at school. She asked if she could have her own game at home/ She loves the stones that come with this set. They are African and intersting and not alll the same.

Great Family Game
Even young players can play this game and there is enough strategy to keep adult math wizards challenged. Beautiful wood too!

The Mission
Liked it so much that ordered the DVD on Amazon. The scenery is spectular, but the music is what impressed me the most.

Pretty neat, cannot hardly close it with beads in it though, but other than that It is perfect. Deeper holes than normal boards I believe, and I love the darker look and beads.
