Brandon Mull’s New York Times bestselling series about siblings Seth and Kendra who discover their grandparents are the caretakers of a sanctuary for magical creatures! This paperback boxed set includes: Fablehaven Rise of the Evening Star Grip of the Shadow Plague Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary Keys to the Demon Prison Review: Well-loved books for the whole family! - This book series follows Kendra and Seth as they discover magical creatures hidden in plane sight and in magical preserves. They, along with the caretakers of these magical preserves, have to work together to outwit the dangerous magical creatures. If the preserves fall, these creatures could destroy humankind. Wherever I go, when the topic comes to books, I always end up recommending the Fablehaven book series. I am not a huge fantasy fan, so when a friend first introduced me to the series, I didn't think I would like it. I found out that I absolutely love it! All of my kids love it too. My daughter will always say that her favorite author is Brandon Mull. There's a reason it's a New York Times bestseller - it's the best fantasy series in the juvenile fiction section! One summer, my son read the whole Fablehaven series. He just couldn't put them down. He ended up winning a bike from the public library for reading the most hours that summer. Not only was the bike a wonderful gift, but the time spent enjoying this series was a gift of its own. This series really does make reading a joy and can be enjoyed by the whole family. Our copies of the Fablehaven series are well-loved. I would recommend them to everyone. Review: I binge-read these books - you should too! - I loved these books! I'm an adult devotee of YA fantasy, so these books were right up my alley and they did not disappoint! These books were really fast paced and exciting - the characters were interesting and endearing, the magical characters and environments were entertaining and tangible, and the plot twists were just twisted enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. What a fun read this series was - I don't think I've enjoyed a YA series this much since the Bartimaeus books. I'm so glad that I purchased the complete series, because I totally binge-read this. If you, like me, were reading Harry Potter as it was published, (or if you're a GoT fan now!) you know how correct Tom Petty was when he sang, "The Waiting is the Hardest Part!" Fear not, brave reader - none of the terrible waiting for years for the next book to come out - if you get into Fablehaven, you have over 2000 pages of epic YA fantasy awaiting your attention. What a fun series. Definitely worth a re-read, if not an Audiobook purchase for a relisten!

my most favorite series ever!
I will never tire of this series. Never tire of Kendra and Seth, never tired of their ridiculous adventures and all of the Fablehaven creatures. This series lives in my heart.

Great Story, Very Engrossing
This may have been targeted at young readers and there is certainly no profanity or gross violence but the story is compelling for adults as well. This was recommended by a senior friend who knew I like the Harry Potter books. This author has a different style of writing but shows a very vivid imagination with all kinds of fabulous creatures and magical events and well crafted characters. I whipped through all five volumes in a couple of weeks and would have liked the adventure to continue! I will have to look into this author's other works.

Fun and excitement
I wouldn't compare this to Harry Potter, which is filled with angst. It is more like Narnia, which is lighter in tone, while still teaching important life lessons in a non-didactic, entertaining way. It is filled with realistic child characters, figures from mythology, and battles between good and evil. Our heroes are teenager Kendra who is a gentle goodie-two-shoes type, and her younger brother Seth who is brave and mischievous. Their bickering is very realistic (although a little more funny and clever than I remember being) and entertaining. I thought the author was good at creating situations that were genuinely difficult and which required love, discernment, courage and a growing maturity. I could never guess what was coming next, and though the books are very suspenseful, the author did a great job of interweaving action with quieter moments of wisdom and strategy. The creatures and the world he creates are very compelling and intricate. I grew very fond of them. I read all five books through in a row, and though it's been a few days since I put them down, I still think about the characters, the world they lived in (which was beautiful), and the dilemmas they faced. Very good, full of wisdom, fun and action. Children (both boys and girls) and adults alike will love this story. Each of the five books was equally good. A excellent series in the young adult fantasy genre.

Great story set!
Sad that they were crammed into the box in such a way that a corner and several pages of book one were bent up but, the books are amazing and the granddaughter is totally enjoying them.

Thoroughly enjoyed by my preteens.
This book set was well worth the price. The binding has withstood three of my five kiddos reading through the series and they have all loved it. I read the first three chapters with my oldest to get him into the book... That was all it took and he took off reading through them... He talked them up to his brother and sister who can now say they've read them as well. Every entertaining for the pre-teen/ young teen age group.

Great books
Brings one to childhood/teenage years, fondly remembered the first two books and getting to read all of them was nothing if not pleasant and enjoyable. If you consider buying it for that paper feel on under your palms, for sure worth it!

Amazing series for junior readers
After reading the Harry Potter series for a third time, and not loving Lord of the Rings, a friend suggested this series for our 9 year old daughter. The first portion of the first book was slow and she wasn't interested. I was promised it got better so we pushed on. This series has proven to be fantastic!! Our daughter can't put the books down!
