Premium Digital LED Automotive Circuit Tester, DC 2.6V-32V Test Light with Portable PU Extended Spring Wire, Vehicle Circuits Low Voltage Light Tester with Sharp Stainless Probe

I haven't used a test light in about 20 years but needed one for a motorcycle restoration and I didn't know a test light could get better than a bulb and pointy bit! This one has a very clear LED plus the circuit board in the handle displayed an approximate volt readout. I also don't have a voltmeter to test the accuracy, but 13.4v from my little motorcycle battery seems about right. Besides, even if it isn't super accurate, this isn't the tool to measure specific voltages. However if you're hunting for a 12v, 6v, or other voltage quickly between a nest of wires, this does it so well. The pointy end came fairly sharp from the factory so I didn't need to put a point on it. Its lightweight, and has a strong alligator clip that is reasonably shielded too. The connecting cable is lightly sprung and coiled, its got good length for most things around a bike, under a dashboard, or under a hood. However it wouldn't reach from the battery to the rear of a pickup truck. Its only got about 4-5 feet of stretch. The only demerit I can give this so far is the LED is fairly focused and may be hard to see in dark or very bright areas. Not enough of a demerit to knock any stars off.

I bought 2 different to test. On the right is what I am reviewing here. It look and feel good in size. Look well made. Quality is ok. The Brightness on the Leds and display is good. It perform better than others. Is versatile to use. I use to build the display my self but I prefer to try this one. It is good value for the money.

This works decently well. The only drawback for me is the lack of an alarm sound when voltage is detected. I assumed incorrectly that that feature would have been present by default.

This is the third such tester I purchased (returned the first two) and it does what you would expect. Indicates VOLTAGE differential between the "clip" and the probe. KEY POINT... it also indicates POLARITY... red light for positive voltage on the probe and green light for negative voltage on the probe. If you are working ONLY with negative ground systems and the clip is on the frame (ground), many such testers will work. However if you may have a situation where the probe tip is on the negative side, THIS DEVICE will still indicate voltage (and negative polarity). The last thing you want is for the tester to show NO voltage when in fact it is simply REVERSED. This makes this tester trustworthy, as opposed to the two other testers I ordered and returned. A well designed product... feels solid... works in positive or negative environments.

Nice tester but it would be nice if it had a voltage indicator light as well. When you are in a hard to reach place its hard to tell you have voltage as your hand is covering to meter.
