Amazingly delicious and beautiful gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar–free desserts from the popular Bakerita blog Rachel Conners began her blog as a hobby to share baking recipes with friends, but when she started to focus more on gluten-free, paleo, and vegan recipes to make things she could share with her sister, who was following a strict diet due to health concerns, Rachel quickly realized she was onto something. Bakerita surged in popularity as fans flocked to it for delicious and beautifully photographed recipes. Interest in gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar–free foods continues to grow in popularity, yet there are remarkably few books available focused just on desserts, and even fewer with recipes that even beginner bakers can make at home. That's where Bakerita comes in, offering recipes for everything from breakfast treats like Lavender-Lemon Raspberry Scones, pies and tarts such as Chocolate Mousse Pie, cakes including Mocha Chip Cheesecake, and updated all-time favorites like chocolate chip cookies, all made without any hard-to-find ingredients. Review: Great baking book if you want/ need to stop using white flour in recipes - So even though I'm not on a gluten free diet I wanted this book. I mostly want to stop making treats from white flour. There are so many recipes in this book to chose from. So yes you will need almond flour, coconut oil, nut butters etc but don't let that stop you from getting this book unless of course you just don't like almonds or are allergic to nuts. I have made a few of the recipes with good results and they have been super tasty. I'm just a beginner baker so I started with recipes that looked simple enough. I made the Chai spice pear cake, butternut squash pie with oat crust and the brownie energy bites. The recipes are easy to follow along with and every one has a photo. If you do need gluten free recipes this book is perfect for you but if your like me and just want to stop using white flour in baked goods you will like and use this book. Review: Fun Amazing recipes - We love this book! There are many allergies in our family, so this has been amazing. It offers delicious recipes that are dairy-free, gluten-free, and free of refined sugar. I don’t feel bad enjoying these desserts because they’re so healthy. We try to avoid refined sugar, so it’s great to have such tasty and wholesome alternatives. The book includes lots of pictures, which makes it fun and easy to follow, and the instructions are clear—everything we’ve made has turned out great. We’ve loved every recipe we’ve tried!

The holy grail of baking for anyone with egg intolerance/allergies
Let me say first that I have just opened this book and have not baked one recipe in it. HOWEVER, this is the very first cookbook that I have seen/purchased that did not require multiple substitutions, or will allow me to bake just about every single recipe in it. My only real intolerance is eggs. I discovered this in my mid forties and eliminating them and treating the intolerance has been a godsend. My personal experience is that I do better on a Paleo/Keto type of diet, but almost all GF, Keto recipes use a lot of eggs. I have been searching for this particular book for a few years and am so glad to have found it. As an integrative medicine provider, I run an elimination diet coaching program as well. Just about every recipe in this book applies to that as well (peanut butter can easily be swapped out for any other nut butter). So, I am also grateful to have a reference on hand to recommend. The other fantastic feature of the recipes in this book, in addition to the amazing photography for reference, is the fact that the ingredients are widely available and I already have everything I need according to my personal eating habits! I recently purchased another award-winning baking book for gluten-free grains and flours, but most of the recipes use highly specialized ingredients. If you are not constantly baking, the cost would be too much for the occasional specialty recipe. That other book also requires superior baking skills (which I personally have, but could not make a recommendation to casual home cooks). I am so grateful for the simplicity of the recipes and attention to detail. Bravo! I am digging into this book ASAP to make my first recipe. The challenge will be choosing one to begin with. Thank you, from my whole heart, for this tremendous effort for those of us who don't fit neatly into popular trendy diets.

Wonderful alternative sweetener cookbook
This is a really good low sugar cookbook. I love that it only uses Coconut sugar, honey and maple syrup as the sweeteners. I have made a few of the recipes. The ultimate Fudge Brownies and the molasses cookies are divine! I had not cooked with most of these alternate ingredients before. I am reversing my diabetes and these recipes are great for a sweet dessert every once in a while. If you don't like the graininess of coconut sugar then you can grind it up in a spice grinder so that isn't an issue.

Maybe I was too hopeful
This is a pretty book with lots of recipes. My problem is there are no nutrition facts for any of the recipes. A heart patient or diabetic would need this information. Also, a lot of the recipes call for tapioca starch which is high in carbs with almost no protein, fiber or vitamins/minerals. It should only be consumed in moderation. Like another reviewer stated, coconut oil is used in place of butter, both raises bad cholesterol and should be consumed in moderation. I know there’s no easy answer for completely healthy baked goods and desserts, but I was hoping this book would be more. Although the recipes look delicious, I will definitely be looking for some ingredient substitutions and consuming small amounts of any of these recipes.

Absolutely love this book
I saw the author during a virtual book festival in San Diego. I immediately ordered Bakerita for my daughter-in-law who cooks gluten free frequently. I didn’t have to think too long to realize I needed a copy as well. And a friend needs a copy. She makes baking (and some bake free cooking) fun and yummy. Easy to follow recipes. I had to invest in certain ingredients but will continue to use them for more of her recipes. These are all deserts made with no refined sugar. They use gluten free products such as rice flour, coconut flour, etc. Maple syrup and coconut sugar are used to sweeten some of the deserts. If you get a chance to see a video of Rachel Conners baking you will learn some time saving techniques and I think you will enjoy baking more than usual. Beautiful photos. Clear instructions. Helpful tips. And when you consume these deserts you can feel healthy and happy!

Easy vegan friendly beautiful pictures!
I’ve already made two things and excited for making a lot more. All the ingredients are pretty similar so if you stock your kitchen with a lot of the basics that are in most of the recipes then when the time comes for a new recipe most likely will only have to buy a few new ingredients. I’m not a cook or baker and this is still pretty easy and fun to do. Most of the recipes are naturally vegan and the few that require an egg or something gives the option for the vegan version of an egg for the recipe. I made the butternut squash pie for Christmas and my brother and sister are vegan were able to eat it which was awesome and everyone enjoyed the pie. What I did to make it easier when I first got it was flip through a lot of the recipes and look at the ingredients and when I saw lotta consistencies in ingredients needed I made a list of those and bought those straight up. For example: almond flour and coconut flour, tapioca flour, coconut sugar, coconut oil, in some various key spaces. They also have beautiful pictures so you can see what you’re trying to make

MAKE ALLERGEN FRIENDLY BAKING FUN!
Gosh, I have been following Rachel and her blog Bakerita for years on years. There is absolutely nobody else I'd go to if I want to make a gluten free, dairy free & refined sugar free treat. Her recipes are no fuss and straight forward, and you don't need to be a wizard in the kitchen for them to turn out perfectly. The first recipe of hers that I ever tried were her paleo chocolate chip cookies, so when she came out with her first cookbook, it was a NO BRAINER purchase. On to the book... EVERYTHING is organized SO WELL. I love the way the chapters are broken down and how many photos there are. You can tell how much time, attention to detail, and love went into this cookbook. I also love how she includes helpful tips & tricks that will give you that extra OOMPH when you're done creating that recipe. She has truly gone out of her way to help us out, and I am forever grateful. Order this cookbook today... for you, for your loved ones. It would look GORGEOUS on a cookbook stand on your counter, too :)

Great book for those who love desserts.
This is such a great book. There are a lot of really good recipes. If you love desserts then this is the book for you. I would say that there are some everyday recipes and also those for sharing on special occasions. I’m really pleased I got this book. I’ve made four of the recipes over the last two weeks. They have all been tasty and gone down well with friends and family. The Mexican brownies are rich and lasted in the fridge for 7 days. Filling and satisfying. Yum.

awesome recipes!
I almost sent this back as it was not the book I meant to order, but I decided to try 1 recipe to see if I liked it. I am glad I did!! I have since tried 6 or so recipes and each one has been fantastic!! Most of the recipes I have used require an hour or more to let the batter/dough come together, so keep that in mind. The only citicism I have is that I need to use my magnifier to read the fractions in the ingredients list. But that is not a big deal when balanced against how amazing everything tastes!! I highly recommend this book as a great replacement for hours spent looking for Paleo treat recipes on the net. Not all recipes are Paleo, but I am not stringent on that (ie. I still love oatmeal cookies). Fabulous g-free, dairy free, Paleo treats!!!
